Minimum StayGreat time. We enjoyed the house and Mariposa
Our family of four enjoyed staying at the house for two days. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Our two Basset hounds enjoyed the walks in the country. Very quiet and peaceful at night. The town of Mariposa was a lot of fun to explore with lots of old time shops and good eating places. My family would stay here again.

We loved the location…
We really enjoyed our stay here! Very cozy and relaxing. We loved the location and visited Mariposa and Yosemite Park. It was fun sitting on the porch in the evening having wine and cheese! The starry nights are amazing here! Thank you so much for everything!

Good Yosemite Base
This house is a good home base for visiting Yosemite and area. The house is clean, quiet and well equipped and plenty roomy enough for our party of four. It’s on a large rural lot but not remote – lots of neighboring houses and a five to ten minute drive to the town of Mariposa, another hour or so to the Yosemite Park gate. Lots of wildlife easily visible from the covered porch. We saw deer, wild turkeys and quail, but our favorite animal was Maude the cat. She was very friendly and faithfully greeted us each time we drove up after a day’s outing. The owners are most helpful and very easy to deal with. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Great place for Yosemite explorations
We stayed here for four nights during September 2013. The house is very comfy and well-equiped. We found everything we needed from information about the Yosemite area to spices in the kitchen. We loved to sit outside and watch the deer by dawn. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

The house is on a paved country road, only 5 miles from the town of Mariposa. The home is situated on 5 rolling acres in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It is surrounded by mountains in the distance that are frequently capped with snow. The wrap around porch is a great place to relax and catch views of the meadow, the mountains, and the wildlife that frequents the area. There's plenty of privacy in this home, which would make it the perfect place for a romantic getaway. The home is tastefully decorated with antiques to reflect the era in which this house was originally built , back in the 1800's.
It is conveniently located between two entrances of Yosemite National Park and only minutes away from the majestic Merced River that leads to Yosemite Valley. The southwestern entrance of the park is a scenic 35 mile drive. This route leads through the Merced River Valley to the beautiful Arch Rock Entrance of the park. The alternate route to the southern entrance is a 45 mile drive, and takes you along HW 41 past the Wawona Hotel and to the Mariposa Groves, where you can see the giant sequoias.
The location of this home gives you an awesome vantage point to make a full circle through the park, visit the highlights, and still make it home for dinner. For the adventure lovers, the whitewater rafting venue is only 10 miles away. Yosemite Ziplines iand Adventure Ranch is only 2 miles away. Of course, there's always the option to hike the thousands of trails in Yosemite to any of the majestic waterfalls. There are plenty of fun things to do, all just minutes away.
We are only 1 mile from the California State Mining Museum that has the display of the largest gold nugget found in the state of California! The town of Mariposa, which is only 5 miles away from the home, has a lot to offer. The Mariposa courthouse is the oldest courthouse in the United States that is still in operation west of the Mississippi. The Mariposa Museum and History Center, located on Jessie Street in the town of Mariposa, has a display of several artifacts that outline the rich history of Mariposa and the surrounding areas. Mariposa also has a great grocery store that offers fresh seafood and sushi, a nice deli, fresh produce, fine wines, and even fresh flowers for that special someone in your life.
