Relaxing, enchanting weekend away with the pups!
My husband and I stayed here with our 2 dogs for our anniversary weekend. We had such a nice, chill time. The property is gorgeous with its towering cedars and flourishing groundcover. It wasn't quite warm enough to jump in the pool, but we certainly enjoyed hanging out pool-side in the cozy outdoor furniture. Our dogs loved running around and sniffing everything (didn't take a dip either but could have!). The house-dog, Posey, is super cute and ball obsessed. Julie & Jeff are kind and hospitable. We are so grateful they decided to open up their cottage to guests. It really is a lovely place to stay. So much so, we didn't use our car the entire time. The town of Dutch Flat is also quite charming and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back! Thank you!!!

Great stay in a cozy stone cottage
The cottage was everything we expected - cozy, comfortable, and well appointed. Dutch Flat is an absolutely charming little town, and the people we spoke with were very friendly. Julie and Jeff are great hosts and although the cottage is fairly close to their main house, there is plenty of privacy. It was extremely hot during the stay (record temperatures in California) and hit the 100 degree mark a couple of days, but the cottage remained comfortable (the stone walls really work in leveling out the temperature) and the ceiling fans kept it comfortable all day and night. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet retreat and would happily rent it again.

Cottage
Charming and updated 1800's cottage located on 1.5 acres in in Dutch Flat, a California Historical Landmark. The cottage is quiet and peaceful with a lovely rear patio overlooking the vegetable garden. A lawn off the patio provides outdoor space for dining or a lazy swing on the double-hammock.
We felt like we stepped into a Norman Rockwell paining when we found this unique property in late winter of 2015. The former owner remodeled the cottage to include a master suite with shower over tub, queen bed with down duvet. The second bedroom has one twin bed. The kitchen is complete with gas stove, microwave, disposal and fridge. Granite countertops, small dining table and pop-up breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully stocked with small appliances and an array of cookware. A small TV is available in the living room. The gas fireplace will keep you toasty warm in the winter. In addition there is a second unit (the Studio) available upon request with two more single beds and full bath. Of course an additional charge is required for the studio but is a great solution for travelers who have 2 additional friends or family members who wish to stay at Harmony Farm.
We reside in the main house with our Labradoodle, Posey. In the small town you will find a community center, post office, a small grocery store stocked with staples and produce, beer and wine. 10 minutes west on 80 there is a full service grocery store.
The cottage is 1.5 miles from the freeway and 35 miles to Sugar Bowl Ski Resort and Royal Gorge Cross County facility. In the summer there is a swimming pool available for your use. We do close up the pool beginning in October and re-open it in the late spring (or as weather permits).
The Meadow Vista Inn provides fabulous food every night of the week if you decide to dine out. We are 25 minutes to the town of Auburn where you can shop for antiques, enjoy the many restaurants as well as enjoy hiking and biking trails.
