Home Quality

Vacation Rental Properties endure heavier traffic and more abuse than an average home. While we do everything in our power to provide a clean and comfortable space for your vacation, we are also limited in some ways, and cannot promise absolute perfection. Vacation homes are privately owned, and we encourage homeowners to approve or complete necessary repairs as soon as possible. However, things like; carpet cleaning, yard work and cosmetic repairs are commonly scheduled during the off season, allowing more time to complete the work before the next guest checks in. If there is anything we should be aware of, or if you have a concern for safety please contact us immediately. We welcome and appreciate any feedback provided and will always make an attempt to make it right however possible, within reason. All Properties are inspected before arrival. If any damages are found at the home upon your arrival they must be reported to our office. If you fail to do so you will be responsible for the cost of the damage.

Destination Big Bear reserves the right to substitute like accommodations in the unlikely event that your rental home becomes uninhabitable or leaves our program. You will be notified and offered other accommodations. We understand each vacation has different needs so if the alternate property doesn’t satisfy your needs and you choose not to stay, you will be granted a full refund once you initiate cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel for any reason.

City Occupancy Limitations (Adults and Children Over 5 Years Old)

Each property is licensed to accommodate a maximum number of adults, for any given time during your stay. Please do not exceed the designated amount of people. This is set by the city/county and is not negotiable; renters found to be in violation of these clearly posted allowances will be subject to immediate eviction and forfeiture of all rental fees, charges and deposits by the city. Children younger than 4 years old are not applied to occupancy count.

City Code Trash/Ash Disposal

All guests of ALL rental homes in Big Bear are required bring their trash to one of the two main trash disposal locations.   These two trash sites are funded by Big Bear Lake homeowners. They are:

41970 Garstin Drive, Big Bear Lake , CA 92315
39690 Big Bear Blvd., Big Bear Lake, CA 92315

Failure to dispose of trash properly will result in a $25 PER BAG disposal fee.  Under no circumstances may garbage be placed outside or in others garbage cans throughout the neighborhood.

Do not dispose of ashes from fireplaces. It is against the policy of Destination Big Bear to allow disposal of fireplace ashes. If ashes are cold, you may place them in the small metal container provided. If you are in need of disposal of hot ashes, please contact Destination Big Bear. If the fireplace is gas, NEVER burn wood. Doing so will forfeit security deposit and may result in additional cleaning fees.  Any improper disposal of ashes will result in forfeiture of security deposit.   If hot ashes must be disposed of, please call Destination Big Bear at (909) 752-0234.

Barbecues

Propane and charcoal BBQ grills should only be used outdoors. The grill should be placed well away from the home, deck railings and out from under eaves and overhanging branches. Keep children and pets at least three feet away from the grill area. Never leave your grill unattended. Always make sure your gas grill lid is open before lighting it. When you are finished grilling, let the coals completely cool before disposing in a metal container. If you smell gas while cooking, immediately get away from the grill and call the fire department. Do not move the grill. If the flame goes out on a gas grill, turn the grill and gas off and wait at least 15 minutes before re-lighting it. Never place hot ashes on the ground, in the snow, or anywhere besides the metal ash can provided at your cabin.

Propane tanks are filled as needed or when reported empty by guests. If you find the propane tank runs out during your stay, please call us and we will dispatch a person with a replacement. In case of delays, tenants are welcome to exchange the propane tanks out themselves if they wish. Walgreens, K-Mart and others provide an exchange program. We will offer a credit on your account if you do an exchange and provide us a receipt, saving a lot of possible time. If your home has a charcoal BBQ guests are responsible for providing their own charcoal.

Smoking Prohibited

Smoking is not allowed in any of our units. Smoking is not allowed outside by any open window/door. Smoking is permitted on balconies as long as the doors and windows are closed. Please be sure to dispose of butts safely and properly.

Pet Policy (If Applicable)

Allowed in Pet Friendly Properties Only. For Dogs Only. There is a maximum of four pets allowed in each unit. Guest pets must be treated for fleas and ticks prior to arrival. Amenities/What We Provide

Plan to bring everything you may need outside of furnishings, dishes, utensils, bath towels, linens, blankets, pillows, etc.  We also provide limited amounts of cleaning supplies, toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a few trash bags, etc.... We do not supply showers soaps, shampoo, laundry detergent, etc. We also do not supply irons, hair blowers or curling irons.

Each property is individually owned. Amenities are listed to the best of our current actual knowledge, without duty of inquiry or investigation, but not guaranteed. Photos are taken when the home becomes a part of our program and updated when possible, there is no guarantee the property will look exactly the same as the photos. Changes are possible without notice and will not qualify for compensation.

Amenities are not guaranteed at the time of arrival.  Game tables break, hot tubs stop working. It is a mountain community and the environment is very hard on homes. Satellite dishes stop working and internet and cable do go down especially after storms. Pay-per-view may not be available in every home.  If a viewing of a pay-per-view show is important that the tenant must line this up prior to your arrival. At times, homeowners may have to approve it and homeowners are not always available. Barbecue grills may not be cleaned between tenants. Refrigerators will take some time to get your items cold. This is because there are no items in the fridge when you arrive and the air is just cold. While you open the fridge to load your groceries the cold air escapes.  It can take hours for the items to get cold, make sure to leave the door closed as much as possible.

Each home is equipped with basic kitchen utensils and appliances. Basic pots, pans, dishes, and silverware are provided. If you plan on making a special dish, plan on bring your own equipment. (Example: Birthday cake pan or slow cooker.)

Hot Tub (If Applicable)

If a hot tub/spa/Jacuzzi is not working (if provided at the home), we will do our best get the homeowners’ specified spa repair company to repair it.  However, we do not offer any guarantees, refunds or compensation if it is not operational during your stay.

Decks, porches, BBQ's and/or hot tubs may be snowed in depending on how much snow any given storm produces. Shoveling may be required to gain access to the cabin. A snow shovel will be provided at the home, if you are unable to find a shovel please contact us so we may deliver one.

Big Bear and Big Bear Lake visitors are reminded to exercise caution when visiting the National Forest and maintain a higher level of awareness with the increased fire risk. Travelers through the Forest should remain on designated roads and never park on dry brush or grass. Outdoor wood, charcoal, or campfires of any kind are not permitted. This is the ideal place for a weekend getaway

This is the ideal place for a weekend getaway in Big Bear! For a large group of 12, there was plenty of bedding and space to accommodate everyone. The place is spotless and very well kept as well. The kitchen, where we spent most of our time, had all the necessities to cook up a feast. Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone and would be back again :

12 people stayed very comfortably at this house

12 people stayed very comfortably at this house - the pictures do not do it justice. The home was clean and comfortable and the rental agency was responsive. The only negative was that the homes are close together and many of the neighbors have loud dogs. Overall, a great experience.
