Our cozy cabin, tucked in Arcata's Community Forest, is ten minutes to downtown
Our cozy cabin is clean and picturesque. Nestled in the redwood forest, it feels like a treehouse. The top floor is a studio; the bottom floor is a bedroom. Private and beautiful, this convenient retreat is just 10 minutes from HSU and town! The house is furnished with comfortable furniture and a local artist's paintings adorn the walls. Upstairs has a dining room, living room, kitchen, bathroom. Downstairs has a queen bed, closet, small dresser.
Outside there is outdoor seating around a chiminaea and small pond.
Sunny Brae is a unique neighborhood, safe and quiet, quaint and forested. Walking the streets of Sunny Brae feels like walking in a paved forest. It is home to a variety of working folks, retirees, and college students. Murphy's Market, dry cleaner, Ace Hardware and a Mexican Restaurant are located approximately 15 minutes from the house by foot, 5 minutes by car. Sunny Brae is approximately 10 minutes from Arcata's downtown and from Humboldt State University. You can drive to the nearest beach, Clam Beach, or to the breathtaking Mallel Dunes, in approximately 20 minutes. You can access the newly created Arcata Community Forest hiking trails, entryway to a network of trails that joins the greater Arcata forest, by walking up Panorama Dr. Soon it will be possible to walk from one end of Arcata to the other by walking this trail. We are happy to recommend kid friendly places--we have a 9 year old--as well as entertainment, restaurants, breweries, and cider bars in Arcata's downtown.
