There are also a couple of nice delis for a short walk to get ice cream cones, a fine restaurant called Cafe Rio, a nice coffee grind shop, and a small corner grocery store.

It is also next to Seacliff State Beach Park with the famous wharf and cement ship which is often used by marine sea life as a home. The wooden wharf allows visitors to walk out over the ocean and view the marine creatures such as sea otters, fish, sea lions, dolphins and whales. Fishing is allowed on the pier!

Area Information

Being that the Manor is just a short and level 3-4 minute stroll to the 7-mile sandy beach, is one of the main attractions of this home. The fact that there were no other homes that could handle up to 22 guests was another major factor for making this available to people from all over the state, country and world for special birthdays, anniversaries and wedding guests who are having their wedding nearby!

Rio Del Mar Beach and Seacliff State Beach are big wide sandy beaches. People often pitch beach umbrellas, lay on their beach towels and read a book, play beach volleyball, games, swim, surf and watch the incredible marine life cruising by! Looking South, you can see Monterey. Looking North, are views up to the Capitola Wharf and the world famous surfing area called Pleasure Point!

The BEST WAY to avoid this happening is to start bringing all outside guest into the Manor starting at 9:30pm, & make sure that all doors & windows are closed at that time.

Suitability

Perfect for almost any size group under 22 guests that will be sleeping in the home and up to 44 day guests that will be leaving by 9:30pm to avoid the 10:00 noise curfew.  Please call or text me, Aunt Judith or Uncle Buck at 831-212-4435.  House phone is 831-684-1312.

Wonderful Reunion Home!

12 adults and 10 kids. We had great fun with the extended family (a group of 6 families) Had long walks on the beach and kids had a blast building complicated sand structures on the beach and roaring fies at night. We enjoyed staying in this house wall its amentias as well and its close proximity to the beach. We had a fantastic time celebrating the 25th anniversary of members of our adopted family and made wonderful memories. We are about to leave but we already cannot wait for another chance to stay her. Wonderful for extended family

The interesting layout in this large house worked well for us with the upstairs divided into thirds for 3 families with children (ages 3 - 20) & 2 couples downstairs. Wonderful eating areas inside & out. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked. Enjoyed both the front & back yards & the walk of 4-5 short blocks to the beach. Love Rio Del Mar beach with Aptos Creek as a safe place for the kids to play. Appreciated the wagon provided to take supplies to the beach.

Ideal location, professional owners

Worked perfectly for 18 high school senior girls and two chaperones. There is a neighborhood wide 10 PM curfew, so no loud outside parties, but for a school trip that is perfect! I'm fairly certain one of the neighbors is closely monitoring this as we observed her taking photos of our vans as we arrived, presumably so she could report us should we get out of line ;). Great beach for playing in waves without a crowd is 3 blocks away. They do a pretty good job advertising the property, so I'll leave it there, but there are many other advantages to the property. Yard and house rooms are smaller than the pictures would lead you to conclude if you're not familiar with photography, but everything is so well laid out that 20+ would be no problem logistically (although due to Santa Cruz county laws you can't put more than 22 in the house). The owners were very communicative and professional. As I was leading a large group, I did check to confirm far more than I would have for a personal trip, and they were always prompt, helpful, and thorough in their responses. They know what they are doing and obviously have been doing it for a long time.

Beautiful neighborhood, very pleasant stay

This house was the perfect accommodations for a large group of us (20 adults, close friends). While there aren't a ton of large areas in the house (besides the kitchen/dining area), there is a huge backyard and plenty of funky chilling spaces. Far and away the highlight for us was snagging a fire pit on the beach 2 min walk away, though stake it out early, saturday night was busy (we were lucky enough to catch someone leaving). Only two comments I would make are that there was some renovation work going on at the property and also the neighbors are super concerned about noise and we had to make sure we were quiet after 10pm. Thanks for the hospitality Judith and will definitely keep this place in mind for future visits!
