About The Area

Mountain View is a rather unique and quaint little town nestled in the Blue mountain range of the Ozarks, on the White River. You can wander through the shops full of handcrafted items made by local artists and located on the town square there are shops where you can enjoy fudge or ice cream or have lunch at one of the local cafes. On evenings you may like to wander around the square and enjoy the folk music provided free of charge by local musicians or choose to go to one of the local theaters like the Jimmy Driftwood barn or the Ozark Folk Center.

The Folk Center also offers a day of watching highly talented local artists create unique pieces and take a trip back into another era. Loco ropes, located near the folk center, offers a fun adventure high in the trees.

Blanchard Springs and caverns are about 15 miles from town and are a must for visitors to Mountain View. The caverns are spectacular and offer guided tours throughout the day and the nearby springs are beautiful and show a beautiful view of nature where the undrrground river breaks free from the mountain.

Horseback riding is available nearby. Canoes and fishing boats are available at the Sylamore Creek area for rental for a day on the river or you may bring your own kayak.

All in all, a visit to Mountain View has much to offer for a relaxed and enjoyable getaway.

Clean/roomy/great river access

The cabin was exactly as it stated in description, very very clean, plenty of towels and any supplies you may need r/t kitchen and etc. Great access to river, husband and brother in law rented a boat at Anglers and were able to pull up on the sandbar - river level was high enough for this. Cabin is remote, which was exactly what we wanted! you do have a few neighbors but none were bothersome. Bring a kayak and some floaties - we will next time! There was one floating ring provided which was nice to have. Two camp chairs provided also.

Beautiful!

Wow! I booked this rental with no reviews, I was nervous but the Lukas's were fantastic about answering questions and returning texts or calls quickly. The only unfortunate thing is the bumpy dirt road on the way there, however when you finally arrive (just keep driving and driving) it is worth it! The place is secluded with only a few other cabins on either side, we only ran into one other family while we were there and they were very kind people. The kitchen is stocked, no ice maker but there are ice trays. A washer and dryer if needed. The master bed is not perfect but works for a few nights, it is only a queen and if I am not mistaken the other two are fulls. The bathroom has plenty of towels and rags. There is a cot and baby gate in closet if needed. We brought a pack and play for my child. The back porch is the central part of the house, it faces the river and is screened with rocking chairs. The walk down to the river can be strenuous so if you have bad knees or heavy kiddos it is work but the path is good and it is worth it. If you are looking for seclusion and quiet this is the place.

Great would do again

Great cabin very. Ice front and. Ack porch. A very well stocked kitchen. Bathrooms had plenty of towels toilet paper. The only real issue was the spare bedrooms very. Lean and nice but the mattress left a lot to be desired need firmer mattress and queen size would make this place a 5 star plus. If you want a really cool ride turn on the gravel road leading to the Herpel missionary baptist church off the road leading to the cabin. Folks when you arrive at the herpel post office go right you will see a grist meal on right. It looks like the road ends but just keep going follow this very small rocky gravel road you will think this can't be a public road but it is you will see creek bottom mountain rock so beautiful. Don't stop I promise some places you think this has to be ending it didn't it finally comes back onto the main road the cabin road turns off of. Trout fishing was great bubble gum power eggs seemed the best. Bkanchard caverns was very impressive who knew!!! Plus their is a really cool springs and fall in the national park there you can drive back to. And great trout fishing in a smaller lake on the road to the springs

Beautiful cabin overlooking the White River

Great cabin in a beautiful setting. All the amenities needed are here. It's a little off the beaten path but that is what makes it so peaceful and relaxing

Much nicer than we were expecting

The drive from town to the house involves a short stretch of narrow gravel roads and it takes a minute, so be patient. The great room is very large and the electric reclining couches were perfect after a day of site-seeing. Everything in the house looks new and the furnishings are nicer than other cabins we have rented. There are stairs leading right to the water. We fished from the bank one evening for about an hour and caught three fish. There was liquid soap in the bathrooms and kitchen, but bar soap and shampoo were not provided. We saw some squirrels and a couple of geese, but the deer, foxes, and raccoons didn't come around during our trip. Wi-fi and Direct TV work perfectly, but cell service is sketchy. There is a land line in case of emergencies. There are neighbors on both sides of the cabin. We enjoyed this place and we will definitely recommend it to our friends and family.
