Situated on the shores of Loch Ness the Old School 11 apartment is just a few yards from the village of Fort Augustus known locally as the 'Gateway to Loch Ness' as it is situated at the southern end of the lake, so ideal for touring both sides of the loch. It is also ideally situated for visiting Inverness and Fort William, both being within an hour by car from the apartment. The west coast and Isle of Skye, famous for its fantastic sunsets and rugged coastline is also only just over an hour from Fort Augustus.
The Old School 11 apartment is has a very spacious living area, a bright living space helped by the three original large arched windows all along the sunny side of the room. Master bedroom with kingsize bed is en-suite with a shower and bath and the second bedroom has two single beds with the main bathroom adjacent. Free WiFi fast broadband. The Highland Club itself has lots of facilities for families and couples so you enjoy your stay whatever the weather. The clubroom with free WiFi, a full size snooker table and other table games is a great meeting place for friends and families. Also an indoor heated swimming pool and spa, which will add even more fun to your holidays. Apart from the indoor facilities there is a tennis court, a cricket pitch, a barbecue area and many other outdoor things to do at the Highland Club, and all facilities are free to use for self catering visitors.
The building was formerly part of the old boys school which was run by St Benedict monks in days when the Highland Club was an abbey. Prior to that it was a military fort built by the English military in the days of the Jacobites. Many of the original military and monastic features can still be seen around the grounds and in the buildings now restored.
The Highland Club can organise virtually any outdoor activity that you want to participate in. Our Concierge will arrange outdoor activities at short notice for you. The local golf course is only a half mile from The Highland Club and cruises on Loch Ness can be taken from the village of Fort Augustus just 300 yards from your accommodation
