Cortijo la Suerte, a beautiful holiday home in the Alpujarras region of Andalucia located on the southern slopes of Spanish Sierra Nevada. A 'cortijo' is a small farmhouse, where you can stay comfortably with your family or friends. 'Suerte' means fate, chance, fortune or good luck. We hope you’ll be lucky enough to stay at Cortijo la Suerte. Cortijo la Suerte offers privacy, simplicity and comfort to our guests to experience the rural life of Spain. It has beautiful views, spring water and fruit trees. Located on the slopes, close to the village of Pitres. The nearby neighbours are farmers. There is a big swimming pool, central heating in the living room, Jacuzzi and floor heating system in the 2 main bedrooms. The rural lifestyle can give you some great experiences of your life. Electricity is provided by solar panels and a backup silenced generator. Now let our guests speak for themselves: ... Your place really was a wonderful ‘get-away’, and we were all delighted with the grounds and the pool (especially the kids!), as well as with your accommodations and the fact that you really think of supplying everything! We so enjoyed the views and the quiet….well, I should say the quiet during the day…because it was Fiesta at night and it was rather noisy (no fault of yours!). David, Israel - August 2011 ... We had wonderful time. We loved La Suerte for so many reasons. The house is very comfortable and well-equipped, it didn't take long for us to settle in and feel at home. We particularly liked the lay-out of the sitting room and kitchen / dining area which make a nice gathering point in the house. We pretty much used all areas of the property for various reasons - the pool area of course, the terrace for serious sunbathing and the table outside the sitting room for breakfast and lunch. I loved the views from the terrace including at night when we could see the lights from the villages nearby. You made a very good choice regarding the location. Quiet but not isolated - Pitres and the other villages being near enough to walk to. We were very interested in how all the systems serving the house function. Everything worked. You must have put so much work and planning into the house and garden over the years. Many thanks to you both for La Suerte - we were able to experience a little bit of life in La Taha. Snow still covered the Sierra Nevada, early spring growth painted bright green patches on the hillsides and almond trees blossomed in the valley and around the house. The house itself is very secluded and private, with a fabulous view and pleasant places to sit and eat outside. It's quite comfortable, a little quirky (careful on the steps!), and ideal for a small group of friends or family who want a place to themselves. We enjoyed Pitres and other quaint villages nearby and especially recommend walking and driving in the surrounding countryside. Pauline and James, Melbourne Australia - February 2008 ...
