Only a 15 mins regular bus ride away, is the historic town of Almeria with its Alcazaba Europe’s largest Moorish fortress, affording amazing views overlooking the old town with its fascinating warren of streets and alleyways with many historic buildings, shops and bars. Modern Almeria offers a wealth of shops and entertainments, including La Liga Almeria FC and a Bull Ring. For those looking for an idyllic beach retreat you will find some of the most stunningly beautiful and unspoiled beaches in Spain, just half an hour’s drive away in the Reserve Natural Cabo de Gata, fantastic for nature lovers and for the more energetic there are also wonderful walks, mountain biking, horse riding, canoeing and trekking available.
