Blinkbonnie Cottage is the middle one of seven modern cottages positioned in the beautiful Loch Lomond & Trossach’s National Park. The cottage has lovely open views, but walk a few yards away from the house and you have some of the best walks in Scotland.
There is a small lochan at the rear of the cottage where trout can be seen jumping most days. The National Cycle Route 7 runs a few hundred yards from the cottage where you can cycle between Glasgow and Inverness. The whole area is a haven for wildlife. Deer, Hare, Pine Martin, Red Squirrel can all be seen around the cottage and the bird life is equally as interesting. You may see Golden Eagle, Osprey, Red Kite, Hen Harrier and even the occasional Sea Eagle! For those of you who play golf we have two courses within 20 minutes drive and many more in the area.
The nearest village is Killin (2 miles away) which has all you should require for your holiday. There is a well stocked Coop, Hardware Store and plenty of eating houses. It is also famous for the Dochart Falls which you have to drive over to enter the village.
Killin is also on the western end of Loch Tay, one of Scotland’s larger Lochs.
Lochearnhead is 4 miles to the south where you can enjoy all sorts of water sports and fishing. Speedboat rides and water skiing can be arranged by the owner if required?
The cottage is in a perfect central position for days out!
Edinburgh, Glasgow and Fort William around 90 minutes away.
Oban, Glencoe, Stirling, Perth and Gleneagles around 60 minutes away.
Journey times are normally reduced as the roads are very quiet compared to most holiday areas.
Blinkbonnie Cottage is a very cosy holiday home with a log burning stove in the lounge which overlooks the small lochan and the forest in the distance. There are also electric panel heaters in all the other rooms should additional heat be required. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, electric cooker, microwave and toaster.
For the winter sports fans, all ski ranges are within two hours drive and some less than sixty minutes away!
If you fancy a few days really chilling out, some energetic hill walking or just using Blinkbonnie as a base to tour from, this is the place for you!
