This is a wonderful property, the photographs do not do the place justice. The bedrooms are spacious and well decorated. The living space is large indoors (although we barely used it) and the veranda is great for evening drinks overlooking the valley. The kitchen again was large with all the modern features one would expect. The property is surrounded by a garden and further surrounded by orchards. The is a very large (and warm) swimming pool and an outhouse for changing/showers. The local town of Resende is lovely with the facilities you'd expect (supermarkets, restaurants etc) and less than a kilometre away. The housekeeper was very friendly as well. I have stayed in villas for the last 7 years and this is the best yet!

Delightful private pool and garden, furnished with great style and flair, this is the perfect location for total relaxation at any time of the year. Breathtaking scenery, enchanting villages, art and history can all be found within easy reach, with panoramic views of the Douro river an area of spectacular and rugged beauty and where you will find a wealth of interesting botanic and wildlife species, as well as remote villages where life has changed little in generations. Coupled with beauty and tradition, there are also many new local and modern activities on offer such as water sports on the Douro River, golf in Amarante and a few miles away Caldas de Aregos, with a SPA of sulphur waters (excellent for rheumatisms and other diseases). There is also a marina, river beach, restaurants, museum and shops. Casa Sais de Cima is set on a slope of the Douro river. The interior is very comfortable, charming, with refined elegance.
ACCOMMODATION:
Ground Floor: 2 double bedrooms with glass door to the garden; 1 bathroom (bath; shower over bath bidet and toilet); large dining room with fire place and glass doors to terrace with outdoor furniture; large and well equipped kitchen with breakfast area; separate toilet; living area.
First Floor: 3 bedrooms: 1 double; 1 single; 1 double with ensuite shower room with toilet; 1bathroom with shower over bath bidet and toilet Large sitting/living room with fireplace and glass doors to covered terrace with outdoor living space and stairs to the garden.
Second Floor: Only on request with extra charge, 2 bedrooms with overhead window: 1 double; 1 twin; 1 shower room with toilet.
FACILITIES:
Private swimming pool (12 x 6m;1.00–2.50 m deep), available since June till September. Shaded area with table and chairs; garden. Parking. Barbecue.
