Located in the Faja in full rural parish, North Beach, municipality of Horta. The "Casas da Faja" are a real haven of tranquility in the vicinity of a river, a complete and perfect blend of green vineyards, the incense and the beeches, sea blue and crespada side of the rock.

Faial is located in the western end of the central group of the Azores archipelago, separated from the island of Pico by a narrow arm of the sea to 8.3 km long, known as channel Faial. The island has the approximate shape of an irregular pentagon, corresponding to an area of ​​172.43 km ². The resident population is about 15,063 inhabitants, most of whom in Horta City where the Azorean Parliament and only county seat of the island. The climate is temperate oceanic, with annual average air temperatures ranging between 13 º C in winter and 22 ° C in summer.

The island is served by Horta Airport with regular flight connections to the other islands and to the outside of the archipelago. The Port of Horta remains a relevant range of activity as yachts.
