Cedros is on the North side of the island, some 25 kms from the city of Horta and about 22 kms from the airport. As this is a rural area and you may wake in the morning to the sound of cows being herded along the road. It is quiet and peaceful with the occasional disturbance of a farm tractor. You are likely to see farmers still farming with traditional methods, riding horses, using donkeys for transport and great big oxen ploughing fields.
