Are you looking for luxury villa holidays in the Algarve? Then look no further. Our self-catering villa, Casa Na Colina, is perched on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful and historic town of Tavira in the Eastern Algarve. One of the loveliest Algarve resorts in the south-east corner of Portugal, it is a mere 30-minute drive from Faro airport and only 20 minutes from the Spanish border. It is a spacious, fully-equipped, modern, 3-bedroomed, 3-bathroomed villa with large sun terrace and a superb communal swimming pool on a small, exclusive development. It has double glazing throughout and air conditioning/heating in all bedrooms and the lounge/dining room. The large terrace has a built-in gas barbecue and seats 6 comfortably for outdoor dining. There are also sun loungers and recliners. Please note: the house is strictly non-smoking. Sorry, no pets are allowed. Children over 5 are welcome. The house is not ideal for wheelchair users (although not impossible) as there are steps and the paths are not very easy to negotiate in a wheelchair. We are always improving and upgrading the facilities in our home. In 2007 we put in a PC with broadband and 2 bikes, and in 2008 we installed a better dishwasher and upgraded the washing machine to a washer/dryer. We have also fitted mosquito screens to all patio doors and windows. We actually get very few mosquitoes up on Alto do Perogil, but you can now sleep with the windows open safe in the knowledge that you won't be bothered by any unwelcome visitors. We put ceiling fans in the two main bedrooms in 2009, and they've made a huge difference. I don't like sleeping with air conditioning on, so these are perfect for keeping the bedroom cool through the summer nights. We've also recently replaced the barbecue (which was looking rather tired) and bought an extra heater, which keeps the place toasty if you want to come in the winter. As of 2012 the broadband is wireless, so you can now sit on the terrace and surf the net on your iPad, laptop, or smartphone. There are three bedrooms, all with built-in wardrobes, and each bedroom has its own bathroom. The master bedroom on the first floor has a double bed and provides access to the terrace via sliding patio doors. The bathroom has WC and bidet with a shower over the bath. The ground-floor bedroom has a double bed and its bathroom contains WC, washbasin, and shower. The second-floor bedroom has twin beds and shower room with WC and washbasin. A hairdryer is provided in all bedrooms. The well-equipped kitchen has gas hob, electric oven, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer, filter coffee maker, ice maker, plenty of pots and pans etc. There is also a separate wine fridge in the hall. The L-shaped lounge/dining room has satellite tv/dvd/video and 2 three-seater settees. It has a traditional fireplace fitted with a gas fire and there is a mini hi-fi unit. There is a large dining table with six chairs. There is also a PC with wireless broadband so you can surf the net or retrieve your emails. The large, L-shaped terrace gets the sun from about 11:00 in the morning until about 6:00 in the evening, depending on the time of year. A gas barbecue makes for convenient and instant outdoor cooking and there is a separate set of melamine crockery and cutlery for terrace use. A sink with hot and cold water and drinks fridge underneath saves trips down to the kitchen at mealtimes, and there is sturdy and comfortable dining furniture. There are also 2 sun loungers and 2 reclining chairs for those all-important siestas. Linen and towels are provided, including beach towels for poolside and beach use. Cleaning and a change of linen/towels are provided once a week, on changeover day. An iron and ironing board are also provided.
