Casa Janelas was designed by the owners and they had it built to their specification and it has become an ideal home in which to spend your holidays. Our villa is situated a few minutes drive from the small fishing village of Burgau and approx 3 km from Luz, both with lovely beaches. Lagos, the nearest town, is approx. 12km away and the airport at Faro is just over an hour away on the A22. The Western end of the Algarve is still comparatively unspoilt and offers a holiday with the minimum of commercialisation. There are many rugged and impressive beaches to visit with beach bars offering delicious fish, meat and good wines. The villa is furnished and equipped to the highest standard providing all home comforts. The sea and country views are quite magnificent and the villa offers tranquillity but with the added advantage of being close to beaches, restaurants, shops and banks with ATMs. There are lovely walks along the headland into Burgau and Luz and there is also a bus service to Lagos. You can catch the train from Lagos (an interesting experience!) to Portimao or further afield. Lagos is a very old town well worth a visit and the Marina moors some large boats. English Management look after the villa and are on hand in case of any problems. Wood burning stove and wafer heaters in all rooms for winter use. Internet access also available with TV, DVD and CD player. Inside and outside safes for personal belongings.
The lounge, dining room and hallway are all tiled with traditional natural stone from the North of Portugal and the beams in the lounge and dining room compliment the flooring offering a homely atmosphere. Downstairs there are two double bedrooms, one en suite bathroom and one communal bathroom with a walk in shower, bath, bidet, washbasin and toilet. Upstairs is the very large master bedroom with dressing room and en suite bathroom. There is a door off the bedroom onto a lovely terrace with a table and chairs and also room for sunbathing. It is a wonderful place to sit and look at the sea and watch the sunset.
The kitchen is large with a table and six stools for eating and it has all the usual electrical appliances. In the utility room there is a second fridge, washing machine and tumble drier.
The garden is spacious with sun loungers and umbrellas and there are lemon, orange and peach trees which depending on the time of year produce a lot of fruit on offer to our guests.
