Located in a peaceful village near Castiglione del Lago, the property enjoys a private courtyard and garden area with swimming pool and wonderful views across the Umbrian countryside. Sleeps 6. Please note: The owners are installing a brand new swimming pool before the 2014 season.
Inside, the property has an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen is well equipped with everything guests could need during their stay. The property also boasts 3 lovely bedrooms. One of these is a double room and the others are twin bedrooms. One of the twin rooms has double doors leading to a balcony area. This bedroom also enjoys an ensuite shower room. All the bedrooms are tastefully furnished with white linen and contrasting throws and bedspreads. The owners have maintained the character of the building with lovely beamed ceilings in each of these rooms. There is also a cot for those with little ones.There is also a good sized wet room / bathroom with both shower and bath, perfect for long lazy soaks in the tub as well as a quick wash and change before dinner!
Outside there is a private garden and courtyard. There is a table and chairs for 6, ideal for al fresco dining. There are also comfortable loungers for lazy days in the garden! In addition, there is a raised swimming pool. The fact that it is raised can suit those with little ones however, of course, young children do still need to supervised at all times.
The property enjoys superb views over the Umbrian countryside. It really us an incredibly peaceful spot for a relaxing and tranquil holiday, whilst being in a great location for exploring the beauty and sites of Umbria. It's easy to explore not just Umbria but also Tuscany and Lazio. Day trips to Rome and Florence by train are popular with guests. Other towns well worth seeing include Assisi, Siena, Montepulciano, Panicale, Perugia, Cortona and Castiglione. Lake Trasimeno is just 10 minutes away and is a great spot to enjoy a swim, try your hand at fishing or take a boat trip to one of the islands on the lake.
For the golf enthusiasts, there are a 4 excellent golf courses within a 40km radius. The nearest is Lamborghini Golf Club approximately 20 minutes away. The 9 hole course set over a hilly landscape close to Lake Trasimeno was designed by Eng. Ferruccio Lamborghini. Also nearby is the Golf Club Valdichiana. Alternatively, 45 minutes away, is the Golf Club Perugia which also offers guests a golf school catering for all ages from 6 upwards. Whilst slightly further from the property about an hour away, not to be missed is the Antognolla Golf Club designed by the famous Robert Trent Jones Jr. It's an unforgettable golf experience with dramatic cliff lined fairways, beautiful lakes and stunning views of the medieval castle and countryside. Please note: Whilst the property is located in a village, there are no shops in the village and so it is essential to have a car during your stay. There is space outside the property to park a car, however, parking is not off street and not designated.
