We believe that in Lunigiana we found the Hidden Tuscany, nestled between the Apuane Alps and the Appennines, an unspoilt area that has retained the real Italian atmosphere.
This traditional village home Casetta Sissi: is located in Hidden Tuscany and is to be found in the village Gassano, around half an hour from the coast and an hour from the airports at Genoa and Pisa. This is a working village with bakers, butchers, general stores and post office. There is of course the obligatory bar, full of old and young.
Gassano is a perched village, typical of the Maritime Alps and this northern part of Tuscany. Located south of the Aulla - Fivizzano road, access is not difficult and approaching from the north the nature of the village is less apparent. The village, with its narrow twisting lanes on different levels and interlinking arched passages, is accessed from either end and our house is at the western end of the village.
Casetta Sissi is very old and built over three floors and arched over the street, however it has been refurbished with new kitchen, bathrooms and central heating. The house is mainly arranged over two floors with three bedrooms, (two double and one with full size bunk beds sleeping six), bathroom, shower room, kitchen, top floor sitting room and south facing roof terrace with stunning views over the valley to Mount Pisanino.�
We can offer accommodation for up to six people, in this traditional village home. The nature of the property does preclude its use by the infirm and they are not really suitable for very young children. We do not take pets Accommodation is available for six people on weekly terms as low as �80 per person per week. Parking in the nearby car park is free.
