Home Description

The historical La Casaccia family estate is located in the vicinity of San Gusmè, a small medieval village in the Sienese Chianti area where the territory of the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga borders on the Gaiole in Chianti and Radda territories. The estate which has been owned by the same family for more than three centuries, covers approximately 130 hectares of land, including an overall area of about 19 hectares planted with vines, more than 3 thousand olive trees, woods, pastureland, a small village and the company's headquarters. The numerous vineyards dedicated to the estate's vticultural activities are situated at altitudes varyng between 400 and 500 metres a.s.l., and are aged from 5 to 40 years. For over three hundred years La Casaccia belongs to the family Socini Guelph. Several generations have succeeded in the cultivation of these vineyards and the love for the production of fine wines is passed on and passed in custody as a precious legacy from father to son. Famous people of the family as the famous jurists Bartholomew and Mariano Socini, or the philosophers and heretics Fauso Socini Lelio, who founded and led the Protestant movement known as "Socinianism" as well as the heroes of the Risorgimento and Angiolo Guelph Guelph, fighters Fanco Garibaldi for the unity of Italy, all of them often put aside as public to wear clothes of expert agronomists, and ran through the tunnel of barrels from the cellar of La Casaccia to control the aging of the Chianti Classico that is honored to produce and to sign your name. Everyone has told himself and his passion to produce "her wine." It was Guelph Guelph who wanted to put on the facade of La Casaccia the effigy bearing the slogan "For us and for you" that still reads the label of each bottle produced. This motto sums up the pleasure of sharing the beauty of these places, the heat of the house, and the flavors of our wines. Our production comes as a motion of openness and sharing with others something that is precious to us, and makes us so happy and proud to repay the daily efforts. Now the baton is passed to us 2 brothers Francesco and Laura Franzinelli Socini Guelph. We produce wine for generations. From generation to generation, each has interpreted according to its nature the art of the winemaker selecting different clones of Sangiovese considered most suited to his taste, as choosing the type and time of pruning to regulate the production, cultivation techniques, the 'time of fertilization, the depth of the workings of the ground and playing on the date of collection and maturation, or the type of wood of the barrels for aging to "create" the wine he had in mind. Now is the time of Francis and Laura interpreting the Chianti Classico using only Sangiovese and 27 hl oak barrels for aging. In addition to the Chianti Classico wine, mostly sold abroad, La Casaccia also produces Vin Santo, olive oil and red wine IGT Toscana.
