Another relaxing holiday at one of Daniela\'s holid

We stayed at this lovely cottage for 2 weeks in September. The cottage is located not far from Casole D'Elsa and within easy reach of Volterra and Sienna. The house itself is ideal and well equipped. There is a spiral staircase to the lower ground floor bedroom and also up to the bathroom and bedroom. There is plenty of room for a family as there are a couple of sofa beds also. The kitchen area which doubles as a lounge is a bit dark. Daniela is very aware of this and has tried to illuminate the area with lots of lights/lamps but to be honest apart from knocking a hole in the wall for another window, there is not much else she can do! On the windows there is mesh grills which is a great idea to stop the flys/bugs. The pool is in the middle of a lovely olive grove and although very cold when you first get it, the water is lovely to swim in once the sun has been shining for a while - very refreshing. Daniela was again the perfect host for us as we had visited her other property in Montiguidi in June. She really is a lovely person and we have taken her into our hearts. She cares about her holiday letting business and wants to ensure everyone has the perfect holiday break. Thank you Daniela for making our introduction to Italy a great pleasurable one, we hope to visit you again next year.

Beautiful

Casa Daniela was all we expected and more! Very private ,but not too isolated, large house, everything inside that you need for a family holiday and very clean! The pool is large and has a pump and filter system which is on a timer and therefore keeps it clean along with Daniela coming every few days to vacum out any extra debris. Our 11 and 13 year old boys loved it and it was great for cooling down after a wee bit of sunbathing. The property is set in between olive trees at the pool area and woodland area to the side and rear so there is always somewhere to sit in the shade. There is a metal framed gazeebo beside the pool area which has insect nets which we kept down all the time as there were alot of flying insects including the dreaded mosquito which didnt bother myself and kids but they did love my Husband, insect repellent definately a must! There is a stone bbq for cooking outside and a full sized oven and hob inside. There is also a large fridge with smaller freezer compartment with plenty of room for a weeks worth of shopping. We did most of our shopping at the Co-op in Colle de Valle d Elsa as it had everything you need including good selection of fresh meats and fruit and veg. Casole D Elsa does have a butcher and small shops and a lovely bakery if you didnt want to venture to the larger supermarket. Casole d Elsa was a lovely village with plenty of places to eat and buy essentials. We did tend to eat in the same place though, Il Barroccio, as our boys loved the pizzas, which were lovely, as was the coffee, nothing fancy but perfect for us. The Ice Cream shop in the village is a must as we all agreed that it was definately the best Ice Cream out of all the places we visited in Tuscany and friendly! Daniela had been so helpful from the moment we enquired about booking her property and we kept in touch by email all the time so we could not wait to meet her when we arrived! A more cheerful and friendly and warm person you could not wish to meet, loved her from the first meeting and felt like we had know her for years, nothing would have been too much trouble and she works extemely hard making sure everything is perfect for the guests. You definately need a car if you want to explore all the tourist spots and the smaller roads are very winding which did make some journeys feel longer than they were but that was to be expected. We did all the main tourist locations, Florence, Pisa, etc but would have to say Siena and San Gimigiano were our favourites as they were not as commercialised as the bigger tourist attractions. We also needed the car for going to and from the village especially at night as parts of the road were too dark for walking safely with children. I would have been happy to walk there during the day though but not the children, lazy boys! All in all we would definately recommend Casa Daniela if you want a quiet location and as a base for visiting all the tourist attractions in that part of Tuscany. It is a beautiful part of the world and certainly didnt dissapoint!

\"Beautiful venue for relaxation\"

This is a wonderful secluded house perfect for relaxation. It is also centrally located so a good base for sightseeing and exploring the region (by car). The owner, Daniela, is very helpful and friendly. The booking was very easy and arrangements were simple and ran smoothly. As a very good host, Daniela is available to help but also gives guests privacy. The house is set amongst woods, olive groves and vineyards in a very peaceful place on the hillside. The gardens are extensive and there are several lovely spots outside to sit in the sunloungers, eat at the dining tables, or lounge in the hammock. The pool was great, set amongst olive trees, and very private. The house is very comfortable and spacious. Although there were only 2 of us it would be comfortable for a larger family, particularly as there is so much space outside as well in which to relax, or for children to play. The property is very well equipped and very clean. We didn't have a car - although Daniela warned us of the restrictions before booking - but it was possible to visit. Daniela arranged a taxi for us from the nearest train station. Being relatively fit, and fond of walking, we were able to get into the village of Casole d'Elsa to buy supplies and eat out. (It is worth noting though that some of the road to the village does not have a pavement, but the road is not busy. Also as there are no street lights walking at night would not be recommended.) As we wanted a very quiet holiday reading, swimming and walking, not having a car was ok. However, if you want to go sightseeing a car would be essential, likewise if walking is a problem for any of your group. Having a car would also mean you could benefit from the central location of the house and visit a lot of interesting places like Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, etc. The village of Casole d'Elsa is very picturesque and a nice place to visit. There is also a tourist information office which is useful. We feel that the property is good value for money, especially as there is a private pool. The best things about the property are the fabulous location and the pool. It is a nice area for walking and the scenery is stunning. It was brilliantly quiet, just the sound of birds. It is the most relaxing time we have had for a long time! We would thoroughly recommend this property. A few other recommendations are the shop on Via Casolani - for general supplies and great local foods - and the restaurant Caffe Casolani (on the same street) where we had a fantastic meal.

\"Excellent stay in Casole d\'Elsa - Heart of Tuscan

We had a great stay in Casa Daniela with my family (me, wife and two girls 10 and 12). Daniela the owner of the Casa Daniela really looked after her guests. The villa itself is nice and cosy and there was plenty of space for four persons. If you like cooking there is good possibilities for that. Pool in the olive garden is what kids like the most. The overall location of the villa is just excellent. With rented car it is very easy to take day trips to Florence, Pisa, Volterra, Siena, San Gimignano just to mention couple. Casole d'Elsa is very nice small town and has also good restaurants to visit. I could recommend this place to anyone who would like to have getaway from the stressing work. If you are looking for busy nightlife then I would say look elsewhere

\"Rural retreat\"

We had a great time at Casa Daniela, well located for San Gimignano, Siena, Florence etc. It is also a very peaceful place down a track between an olive grove and a small wood. Very, very well equipped kitchen, if you wanted to exploit the great, local produce. The house itself feels very traditional, quite dark inside, an excellent kitchen/dining/living room, 2 good sized comfortable bedrooms. Great space outside, we were there early April and managed to eat al fresco a couple of times. It would be fantastic in the summer. Great bakery in Casole, excellent Co op in Colle Val d'Elsa, good restaurant just down the road. Daniela was very hospitable.

\"A lovely villa in beautiful surroundings\"

We have recently returned from our first holiday in Tuscany with our two young sons and all agree that we will return to this area again. The villa although a short drive into Casole was situated amongst olive groves and vineyards giving us the seclusion and tranquility we wanted. The villa itself was comfortable and very well equipped, Daniella the owner was also incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. A highlight of the holiday was Daniells's invitation to her village to enjoy homemade pizza and wine with the locals! Casole D'Elsa is only about 5 minutes in the car and there are a number of restaurants and bars. It's a beautiful village and well worth taking your time to explore and take in the breathtaking scenery. We would recommend this villa to other families and can't wait to return ourselves.
