A splendid located villa for two to eight persons, in the much sought after location of Porto Frailis, near Arbatax, on the central east coast of Sardinia. Both the beautiful bay of Porto Frailis and the long stretch of white sandy beach of San Gemiliano are within easy walking distance at less than 800 metres.

Situated in a larger than average plot for the area and with very well maintained accommodation finished to a high standard throughout. A spacious well equipped living kitchen. A master bedroom with wardrobes, three further double bedrooms with wardrobes and two bathrooms and an extra closet. One more laundry room. Balkon with view to the garden and its surroundings.

At lower ground floor level is a bathroom and a bedroom with a dining area. Barbecue, large terraces front and rear and garden. Outside shower. Own fenced parking area.

The San Gemiliano Beach is at walk distance. It is a beautiful, large and sandy bay with crystal waters that stretches up to the Lido di Orri’. It is very well served with bars where to eat and hiring of sport equipments, parasols, deck chairs etc. If I well recall there is also a Beach Volley field.

The bay is dominated by a Spanish tower that was built during the Spanish domination in the XV century to fight the Arab incursions. You can reach it from the beach if you wish to visit it and enjoy a faboulous view from there.

Porto Frailis has a good choice of restaurants and other services, with the larger town of Tortoli and it's associated port, Arbatax, with good ferry services to other parts of Sardinia and the mainland, plus tourist marina, both within just a few minutes drive.

Porto Frailis - Arbatax, this is the best well known town of the Ogliastra area, thanks partly to the presence of the commercial and tourist port and thanks also to its rather intriguing name: it derives from an Arabic word meaning "fourteenth tower", for the Saracen tower which overlooks the seafront.

Tortolì is characterised by the charming coastline with its cliffs made of red porphyry and the pure white beaches among which the Lido di Orrì and Porto Frailis (overlooking the bay of the same name) stand out for the fineness of the sand and the clarity of the water. The many tourist villages, hotels, and campsites in the coastline's prettiest bays allow thousands of visitors to stay and enjoy al the services necessary for their holidays.

Arbatax was born as a village of fishermen, many of whom came from the nearby island of Ponza, and it is from fishing that it earned its biggest fortunes, thanks to the significant variety of fish and crustaceans in the area. Diving expeditions to the Archipels of La Maddalena National Park are organised from Capriccioli on the Costa Smeralda.

This nature protected area is rampant with reefs and with a seaweed covered sandy sea bed at only 10 metres in depth, is perfect for beginners and snorklers. There are countless other dive sites around Sardinia and many coastal resorts have competent dive centres where you can do a course, rent equipment and take guided tours.
