The apartment is luxuriously furnished, and spacious in size with lots of storage. Large French doors open onto a private outside patio area and a small private garden with outside dining facilities with table, chairs and a BBQ to enjoy eating outdoors while enjoying the wonderful warm sunshine. The studio apartment comprises a large air-conditioned room incorporating a living area comprising a contemporary table and 4 chairs and a double size sofabed that converts into a comfortable bed at night. The luxurious fully tiled bathroom is equipped with a shower cubicle with sliding doors and power shower, wash basin and mirror cabinet, WC and washing machine. A selection of bath and hand towels are provided and are included in the rental price. In the living/dining area of the apartment there is a contemporary table and four chairs, a top of the range 32' Sony LCD TV, Blu-ray Sony DVD player and CD player with iPod docking station. A selection of DVDs are provided for your enjoyment. The modern integrated kitchen has a large built-in fridge freezer, electric oven, gas hob, toaster, kettle and is fully equipped with all the necessary kitchen utensils, cutlery and crockery for a home from home experience. Linen and towels are provided and included in the rental and the property is cleaned at the beginning of each rental period for which there is cost of £20.00 payable together with the rental balance, 30 days before the arrival date. As the apartment is situated on the ground floor it is suitable for people with mobility problems. The apartment is most suited to a couple and if required a bed cot suitable for children up to 2 years of age can be provided for Euro 15.00 per week. It may also be possible to provide a single folding bed for one additional adult on payment of an additional amount. Please check with the owner for details. Free secure parking is also available outside the apartment. In addition, the Pizzo Beach Club resort includes many amenities, that are available free of charge to all residents. These include landscaped gardens, the use of two large manned spectacular communal swimming pools, with free access to reclining sun loungers, a five-a-side football field, two tennis courts, a state of the art gymnasium, a new restaurant that serves delicious food, and a fully stocked bar. Additionally, the Pizzo Beach Club resort has 24 hour security and is accessed by an electronic gated entrance with swipe cards with residents security assured. Coast/Beach The apartment is a short 10 minute walk through a pine and eucalyptus forest that leads to a large sandy beach where deck chairs and umbrellas are provided free of charge for your use. How to get there Lamezia airport, is a short 15 minute from the resort and is served by many low-cost airlines, including Ryanair and Easyjet. Car hire is strongly advised to fully appreciate and explore the magnificent scenery and to visit the many historic places of interest that this beautiful part of Italy has to offer. If you wish to stay at the resort and and not hire a car during your vacation, there is a shuttle bus that operates thrice daily from the front of the resort to the historic centre of Pizzo during the peak summer months. Tickets can be purchased at the Pizzo Beach club reception prior to travel. Distances The lovely town of Pizzo is a ten minute drive away by car where wonderful Pizzerias, bars and ice cream parlours are to be found. The local "Tartufo" ice cream is world renowned. There is also a stunning marina at Pizzo and a beautiful beach nearby. Tropea, which is a 20 minute drive away is a delight to explore and has the distinction of having one of the best beaches in Italy. It stands on an imposing stone clifff and is one of the most picturesque and well preserved towns in the province. Special Interest Holidays Cookery courses can be booked through the management company, together with day trips to visit Mount Stromboli, one of the few active volcanoes in the world situated in the Tyrrhenian sea, a trip which is highly recommended. Watersports such as sailing and scuba diving can also be booked through the management company that handles the apartment. Skiing The Italian southern region of Calabria is a great destination for a ski holiday. La Sila, located in the Parco Nazionale della Calabria, is a popular ski destination between November and February. In winter the Sila resort becomes one of Italy's best cross-country skiing areas, and with slopes as long as 7 km in length, it is a great experience for both advanced and intermediate skiers alike. Golf Feudo Montalto Golf Club is in Limbadi, a small town near Capo Vaticano and Tropea. The 9 hole golf course, designed by Baldovino Dassù, has been built in an old farm and lies among orange and olive trees and is approximately a 30 minute drive from the apartment. Further Details The apartment is managed by a local management company and a meet and greet service can be provided on request for an additonal charge. A welcome pack can also be arranged to greet you on arrival at the apartment by the management company so that you have the essentials when you get there. The management company also can arrange shopping trips to supermarkets and pick up and drop off at the airport if you decide not to hire a car for the duration of your holiday. Tours including day trips to to local places of interest including mini cruises to the Aeolian Islands, fishing trips, water sports, and language courses, can also be arranged on request. An English-speaking representative is at hand to answer any questions. Visit the market on Saturday mornings where you can buy fresh cheese, salamis, fruits and vegetables along with many local specialities like the spicy "Ndula". There is a market on Monday mornings in Vibo Valentia and there are plenty of smaller markets held in most towns and villages throughout the area. Every year during the month of September you can enjoy free performances from live bands on the streets of Tropea. The Blues Festival provides a great atmosphere with lots of fun and good music. The resort's two swimming pools are open from 15 April to 31 October each year. All holiday makers at the Pizzo Beach Club resort can avail of discounted daily passes to the neighbouring Club Med all inclusive resort.
