Featured in Homes and Gardens in 1968, it has a spectacular setting facing the bay and islands at the entrance to Castletownshend harbour. The house has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6. The cottage is a traditional Irish stone cottage that was completely refurbished and brought up to an excellent modern standard. It enjoys the same garden and views. It has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4.
Traharta is a special tranquil area that can be enjoyed throughout the year. Both properties are less than 100m from the water, the rocks and the beach. It is a safe area for children and the rocks pools and water are teeming with life. They provide hours of entertainment and often good catches for the BBQ. Both properties have well equipped kitchens, living and dining areas and utility rooms with washing and drying machines.
The charming town of Skibbereen with its Saturday market is 6 km and the village of Castletownshend with 2 excellent pubs is just 2.5 km. Mary Anns should not be missed. Many activities are available for all ages in the region, swimming, walking, fishing, boating, golf, etc. There are many other pubs and restaurants in the locality which makes an excellent base for visiting West Cork.
Walk around Lough Hyne, an exceptional ecological site, take the rain forest walk to views over Baltimore, climb the steps to Iron Age Knock Drum and magnificent views over Castletownsend.
