Perched upon a hilltop, a stones throw away from the Cabardès wine region, with a stunning view on the Carcassonne valley and the Pyrenees, this stylish gîte of 92m2 is a spacious home away from home.
The name la Bade stems from the Occitan word Badar meaning, staring with open mouth as this is exactly the reaction you can expect upon seeing Domaine de la Bade situated in the picturesque landscape. Perched upon a lovely little hilltop, with 14 hectares of land surrounding the house and spectacular views of the Carcassonne valley and the Pyrenees, our gîtes are the ideal location to enjoy a sophisticated yet relaxed holiday in this charming region of France.
Here you will find attention to detail – those little things that make a holiday special. At this luxury yet small scale gîte complex, you’ll find two fully equipped holiday cottages with spacious living rooms, large bedrooms with very comfortable beds, a swimming pool with a stunning view where you can relax, read or chat. Enjoy the sunny terraces, shady corners, nice hammocks, delicious food, fine wines and above all the relaxed and informal atmosphere where you can truly feel at home.
Ground floor:
- Fully equipped kitchen with oven, dishwasher and all utensils needed to prepare great home made meals (8m2).
- Spacious living and dining room with a breathtaking view, equipped with TV and DVD (45m2).
- Access to a terrace and garden with your own BBQ, close to swimming pool with spectacular views of the Pyrenees.
First floor – 1 bedroom:
- Lovely “Mezzanine bedroom”, overlooking the living room with box spring beds – 2 x 90cm x 200cm – (28m2)
- Bathroom with shower, toilet, hand basin and washing machine (11m2)

The name Cabardès:
Cabardès is an appellation d’origine contrôlée (AOC) for the red and rosé wines directly north of Carcassonne. Cabardès was named after the lords of Cabaret who defended the Châteaux de Lastours against Simon de Montfort in 1209. Despite the name’s medieval origins, this appellation is one of the youngest (together with Malepère) in France, having only become official in February 1999.
