Heart of Paris, close to Eiffel Tower, Latour Maubourg

Home Description

This 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathrooms modernized flat has been recently renovated. It directly overlooks the tomb of Napoleon and the Invalides and is two minutes from Latour Maubourg Metro (line 8), two stops south of Concorde (lines 1 and 8).

On the first floor, with lift, this is a 21st-century apartment in a 'Belle Epoque' building. It has one large bedroom with ensuite bathroom, one smaller twin bedroom with shower room ensuite, separate WC, modern glass-walled kitchen, largely combined salon and dining room.

You will find 200Mb broadband Internet (max) with RJ45 outlets and good wifi, 3 TVs (one with Skype, the others with YouTube), and modern designer furniture. The apartment is managed on behalf of the owner by 'www.RentYourParis.com', a top Parisian servicing agent who can provide additional services (payable) as required and who will deal with all meet, greet, contracts and payments and minor problems guests have with appliances etc.

As the owner, this is my Paris home and my wife and I regularly stay in the apartment.

The apartment is fully double glazed throughout keeping it cooler in summer and warm in winter. All bed linen and towels are supplied along with a welcome pack. You will need to supply an advance deposit against damages equivalent to one week's rental.

We are happy to welcome children but no pets. This is a totally no smoking apartment. Smoke detectors are fitted.

The apartment is heavily booked often with repeat clients booking directly, and the owner does his best to fit his own needs and dates around those of his clients.

The apartment block is quiet, bourgeois and French. The co-owners and residents value their calm and peace but they have all been charming to our guests.

Last but not least, the apartment comes with a selection of DVDs for all ages, some board games, a selection of books on Paris, the fine 'peacock' evening dinner service as well as child-friendly crockery etc.

About The Area

Nearby: The Tomb of Napoleon is barely three minutes walk; the Eiffel Tower is an easy 15 minute stroll, The D'Orsay Museum is also about 15 minutes walk away; the Champs-Élysées is two stops on the metro to Concorde; the Luxembourg Gardens a 12 minute bus ride from Ecole Militaire nearby; other buses and metros get you to The Louvre, Arc de Triomphe and other monuments within 15 minutes.

The apartment is exactly in the center of Paris' most fashionable and bourgeois arrondissement -the 7th. You are surrounded by superb restaurants, fashionable (if expensive shopping), some of the best markets in Paris including Rue Cler just 6 minutes walk away. There are several good cheap supermarkets within 5 minutes stroll.

The 7th arrondissement (district) is the very heart of bourgeois Paris and we are at the heart of the 7th.

10 minutes walk takes you to the Eiffel Tower, Ecole Militaire, Rodin Museum, Les Invalides, the banks of the river Seine, and a few minutes more takes you to Orangery, Musee D'Orsay, Champs Elysee, Tuileries and both the Grand and Petit Palais. The Louvres is also not much further.

The apartment is on Metro Line 8 (Latour Maubourg) and two stops south of the central Line 1 (Concorde). The famed 69 bus runs from by the metro to nearly all famous Parisian sites. There is an excellent taxi rank just 3 minutes away.

The 7th has some wonderful restaurants ( Pascos is just 1 minutes away ) and shopping such as Rue Dominique and Rue Clere ( a brisk 5 mins walk ).

House Rules

This is our home in Paris. We use it regularly.

We have a very strict NO SMOKING rule and our agency is instructed to be very rigorous about this. We also do not permit pets.

We are delighted if you bring children.

MAXIMUM occupation is four persons, but during the day we know you may wish to entertain more and crockery, and seating allows for that.

The minimum period of stay is one week: maximum two months (negotiated with the owner). It is an ideal and central location to explore Paris, France and the rest of Europe.

Long-term renters are welcome.

The flat is wheelchair accessible although only a small wheelchair will fit in the lift. There may be difficulty entering the restroom for someone in a wheelchair. There is a sharp right angle when entering the restroom.

Fantastic Apartment in the Heart of Paris

We were looking for an apartment for a ten day vacation in Paris with space for our family of four. This apartment fit the bill perfectly: a master bedroom with a queen sized bed (unusual for Paris) and a separate bedroom with two twin beds for the kids. The apartment is clearly not just used for rental--the owner stays here during his trips to Pais and the apartment shows it: Bose sound system, high speed internet, television equipped with Skype, fully appointed kitchen, clothes washer, dishwasher, etc. Everything you would need for an extended stay in Paris. And did I mention location? Right across from Invalides which we stared at each night as the sun went down and a short three minute walk to Rue Cler. The owner was responsive within twelve hours to any question from the time of booking to when we checked out. I cannot recommend this rental more.

New Years in Paris

This apartment is the perfect backdrop for a week in Paris. The location is in a quiet neighborhood despite being close to everything. Minutes from the metro, Eifel tower, with cheese, bread and wine stores being only blocks away. The view to the Invalides is perfect for sipping wine in the living room. The apartment itself lends itself to families or in our case 3 moms in Paris to watch our kids march in the New Years day parade. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One room has two twin beds (that can be pushed together) and the other a queen. The showers in each bathroom have great pressure. There is only one toilet in the front of the apartment but that was not a problem at all. For those who don't like to haul luggage up stairs there is a small elevator to help. Our only complaint had nothing to do with the apartment - it was unusually cold in Paris (I bought a new cute coat to compensate) but we are used to the cold - we are all from Chicago area. Hope to be back again.

Beautiful apartment, perfect location

This is a spectacular apartment in the perfect location. I loved having the windows open and enjoying the beautiful summer weather and the view of Napoleon's tomb. We also loved all of the markets, shops and restaurants on Rue Cler - just a few blocks away - and the surrounding neighborhood. My wife, 17 year old daughter and I enjoying everything about it for a week. It is in a great older residential building but the apartment is very modern. The pictures are very representative. It is two bedroom, two baths - the baths both have a shower and sink (also tub in master which my wife loved). There is only one toilet/room - which is between the entrance and kitchen. This was unusual to us but not an issue at all. The location was perfect with a metro stop about a block away that allowed us great access to all of Paris. There is also a taxi queue there. The road in front of the apartment is one way - so we had some trouble with navigation on the bus. The front bedroom and living room are on the street side. There is some traffic noise if the windows are open but it is very quiet with the windows closed/latched. The master bedroom is in the interior of the building and is very quiet and the bed is comfortable. There is a small elevator in the building. The apartment is up one level from the street. A rental/management company is used for the apartment. The owner was in the process of changing management companies during our stay so there were a few unexpected things to deal with but nothing too intrusive. We loved every minute of our Paris vacation in this apartment. The wifi worked well and there was tons of information about things to do and local recommendations. We would definitely recommend it and would try to stay here again if we return to Paris in the future.

Highly Recommended Selection

We can't say enough good about 72 LaTour Maubourg. Wonderfully appointed apartment, great location (within a block of the Metro, taxi stand and bus stop(s)), abundant local restaurants, some do-able street markets, with both the Eiffel and Rue Cler in the neighborhood. We felt safe but still close to the center of many good things. The apartment is well-maintained and overseen by the owner as well as rental agency. We were very comfortable and will return as often as possible.
