Just a five minute stroll from the dunes and miles of sandy beach, this new property is equipped and furnished to a very high standard and holds a Visit Britain 4* Gold Award. You'll find everything you'll need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. You will be met at the cottage on arrival by our concierge service who will be available to help you throughout your stay.
The kitchen is well equipped with quality pans and sharp knives to make preparing a meal a joy. The dining table in the lounge seats 4 comfortably. In fine weather guests enjoy cooking on the Weber gas barbecue and dining al fresco in the sunny fenced garden. You will find no shortage of fresh local ingredients to fire your culinary imagination, whether it is fresh seafood straight from the boats, salt marsh Romney lamb, locally grown vegetables, award wining wine from a local vineyard or local Kentish apple juice, cider or ale.
On a sunny day why not pack a picnic and enjoy some time on the beach. You will find a picnic rug, cool bag with freezer blocks, thermos, wind-break and beach toys at the cottage. The sand is perfect for building sandcastles and the shallow lagoons left by the receding tide, and often warmed by the sun, are the perfect place for children to splash about in.
Located only a few minutes stroll from the magnificent Camber Sands beach, a breath taking seven mile stretch of golden sand backed by picturesque dunes, Rock Lobster is the perfect seaside retreat for couples, small families and friends; the perfect home from home. So whatever the weather, winter, spring summer or fall, romantic break or family holiday, unwind at Rock Lobster. After a long walk on the beach relax in the cosy lounge with a cup of tea (or something stronger). The sumptuous leather sofa, comfy chair and co-coordinating cushions and foot stall are so comfortable; relax and enjoy the 40” TV with free view and DVD player or listen to music using the i-Pod dock. Rock Lobster has free unlimited wi-fi which is available throughout the cottage.
A holiday is not a holiday without a good night's sleep and you'll love our luxurious beds. Both bedrooms have zip-and-link king size beds that can be split into singles, you choose. Whatever your choice you can look forward to crisp hotel quality white bed linen, fluffy white towels and complimentary Sea Kelp toiletries. We have also thought carefully about our younger guests, we have bed guards and cots which can be provided ready for your arrival.
We are parents ourselves we have been on many self catering holidays and so have a good idea of what makes a holiday with a young family fun, relaxing and stress-free. Genuinely family friendly, Rock Lobster is equipped with travel cots, high chairs, dining booster seats, fitted stair gates top and bottom, bed guards, steam sterilizer, babies and children's cutlery, plates, bowls and beakers, socket covers, cupboard locks in the kitchen, baby listening monitor, toddler step, potty, changing mat…. as well as indoor and outdoor toys. Of course, we welcome every member of your family at Rock Lobster and that includes your dogs. Our own dog, Chloe, has worked hard to ensure that the needs of your canine companions are taken care of, including checking that the fenced garden is escape proof. We provide dog bowls and a few toys but ask that you bring your dog's own bed and towels. The beach is a short walk away, less than five minutes when being towed by an eager hound, and even in summer (when certain restrictions apply) there are still miles of sand to be explored off the lead and many seagulls to be chased. On the way back you can call in at the Rye Bay Café or The Green Owl pub, both of whom welcome dogs and offer tasty home cooked food. They will even provide a water bowl for your dog.
Rock Lobster cottage has two similarly sized bedrooms upstairs, each with zip-link beds, a wardrobe with drawers and space for a travel cot if desired, and a lovely, fully tiled bathroom with a rain-shower over the bath (and a hand-held shower for those who prefer not to be drenched). On the ground floor there is the comfortable lounge with double french doors onto the deck and garden, a small but well equipped kitchen and a WC. The fully enclosed garden to the rear is ideal for kids and dogs to play in, or just plain relaxing and taking it easy, and any sports equipment can be stored securely in the shed. To the side of the cottage is an outdoor tap with hose for showering sand of dogs (and kids) after playing on the beach.
Camber Sands is a great destination for water sports enthusiasts too. It has kite surfing, wind surfing, sailing and equipment hire and tuition all near by.
