Details

Home Description

This recently completed two bedroom apartment, within walking distance of the centre of the village of Peyia, has been furnished to a very high specification and provides very comfortable accommodation for up to 4 guests.

The apartment has a large open plan lounge, furnished with one two seater and one three seater leather sofas. The matching solid hardwood dining table, TV unit, cupboard unit and coffee table evidences that no expense has been spared to provide a high level furniture specification throughout, for the enjoyment of guests. The large flat screen TV has access to many satellite channels.

A sliding patio door leads from the lounge to a large balcony/terrace with chairs and table for that al fresco dining. Sun loungers are provided for guests to relax and sunbathe without having the effort of moving from the apartment to the swimming pool on the complex or the nearby beach at Coral Bay or Lara.

Also leading from the lounge via a small corridor, the accommodation provides one double and one twin bedded room, both having extensive built-in veneered timber wardrobes and interior shelving, so it is not necessary for guests to live out of suitcases as many holiday apartments require. The double room also has access to balcony/terrace via patio doors providing a wonderful view to wake too.

Paphos is located on the South West coast of the beautiful island of Cyprus and as such enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, a favourite of visitors from Europe and Middle East, the former seeking the sunshine and heat sometimes missing from their climate at home and the latter escaping the oven baking temperatures experienced at the height of their summer.

Fabled for being the birthplace of the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite, there are many representations of her amongst the historic sites that exist on the Cyprus, with many of these being found in the Paphos District.

The Peyia / Peyia Village area

Peyia is reached by taking the coast road from Paphos and heading north towards Coral Bay and St Georges (Agios Georgios). Once reaching the main Coral Bay turn off instead of turning left, turn right and the road will take you up a steady incline into the village of Peyia which is a large, friendly village tucked away in the hills about 3.5 km from Coral Bay and 15 km from Paphos.

Peyia offers visitors a good selection of amenities including banks, doctors, two supermarkets, a fantastic bakery, butchers, coffee shops, fishmongers, DVD/Video rental shop and launderette. It also offers a good selection of traditional tavernas where you can try the local fish or meat meze. There are also one or two take-away restaurants for those occasions when you want chill out with a bottle of something in front of the television, without the hassle of cooking.

Within a short drive, you can find a modern, purpose built, go-karting complex, stables, a reptile park and animal and bird sanctuary to keep the kids happy on those days when giving the sun-bathing a miss. There is also the golf course at nearby Tsada, in the grounds of a 12th century monastery, to keep the grown-ups happy.

You can choose to venture further by extending your drive past St. Georges to the relatively rugged Lara Bay and here you will find a well known fish taverna, much frequented by the locals on a Sunday lunchtime, and the ‘Last Castle of Viklari’ restaurant, where booking is advisable as it can also get crowded.

Be warned, if you venture much further a 4 x 4 vehicle is recommended. If you continue you can find your way through the Akamas peninsular to Latchi with the Baths of Aphrodite close by and further on, the town of Polis situated on the North coast. Without a 4 x 4 vehicle these places can be visited by taking the main road directly over the hill from Peyia to Polis. This road passes by both the village of Kathikas, well known for its many tavernas (Sunday lunch at one of these is recommended - booking again advised) and Drousia famous for its award winning wines.

All in all Peyia is the perfect place for that relaxing holiday, away from the maddening crowd, but close enough to many places of recreational or historic interest..
