The villa is 1Km from the village and 2Km from the small developed Maroni beach with its beach café, sunbeds and umbrellas.A larger developed beach is approx. 6km, with the main highway to Limassol, Larnaca and Nicosia 4km away.For daily needs, Maroni has a supermarket, butcher, mini-market, post office and a bank.Similar facilities can be found in the surrounding villages, including an excellent bakery and a petrol station at Zyggi Crossroads, a few Km away.
VILLAROSA is fully equipped for self-catering, but for eating out, the area is well served by restaurants and tavernas.Whilst children are welcome, the steps down to the pool make it unsuitable for unacompanied younger children and those with mobility problems.The Maroni valley is situated on the central southern coast of Cyprus, halfway between Larnaca and Limassol and is principally agricultural, with fields of various crops as well as numerous orange, lemon and olive groves.The farming is mostly vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers as well as water melons and honeydew melons in season. A popular fruit & vegetable shack near the Maroni beach sells fresh produce from the surrounding fields.
Maroni is ideally situated for exploring the rest of Cyprus.The picturesque mountain village of Lefkara - famous for its silver workshops and traditional lace, made popular by Queen Victoria, is just 20 minutes away. Horse riding is 10 minutes away and camel riding 20 minutes.The main seaside towns of Limassol and Larnaca are both under 30 minutes away and the capital of Nicosia is a little more.Closer to the villa, the fishing village of Zyggy is 10 minutes away with its new marina and many seafood restaurants and cafes.
