The residence "Casa dei Ladri" is named after the nickname of Stancija Zavod (Casa dei Ladri: The Thieves House). Until the late 1930 years there were cattle thieves active in Istria and stole livestock (sheep, goats and cows) in the fertile north. The cattle were driven to Lim Fjord and then transported by ship to Italy. "Zavod" was one of the intermediate stations in the chain of places where cattle were kept hidden during the day and during the night transported to the Limski ford.
The high walls around Stancija Zavod are still silent witnesses of the time that the cattle during day time was hidden of the curious villagers.
