Villa Villa Luna is nestled in Strossmayerova ulica, typical narrow, stepped street in the heart of Cavtat Old Town. Villa dates back to the 17th Century and is protected as National Heritage. The property was restored in space of one year, by a team of international architects Scott Brownrigg, leading architecture and interior design practice from London. The highest standards of construction were implemented to create a luxury 5 bed, 5 bathroom property with all necessary mod-cons, but maintaining the spirit of a 17th Century villa. Behind tall walls and typical Dubrovnik green timber double door is oasis of a cosy garden with two mature mandarin trees with incredibly flavoursome fruit, which provide natural shade to a large garden table. More mandarin and olive trees decorate the garden in terracotta pots, whilst aromatic rosemary and lavender circle tree bases. Owners discovered and restored a lead bath tub which then became home to a bougainvillea.
A set of steps leads from the garden onto a generous terrace on the first floor. One part of the terrace is occupied with a 10-seater table with retractable shading, allowing guests to enjoy it all day. Both terrace and garden tables are a bespoke design by Scott Brownrigg featuring Patricia Urquiola tiles. Tip of the terrace has a hot tub/whirlpool, offering stunning views across Cavtat bay and open sea beyond.
Ground floor of the house connects with the garden via two sets of double doors. Upon entering the property visitors find themselves in a large open plan country style kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is light in colour with cappuccino coloured marble work tops. Generous island unit provides breakfast bar and the kitchen is fitted with built-in hob, oven, microwave and dish washer. All necessities including kettle, toaster, cutlery and crockery are provided to ensure maximum comfort and homely atmosphere for all guests. Dining area offers a twelve seater table and is decorated with rustic decorations including antique iron, scales, wine cooler, lamp and candle holders, picked up at the local antique market.
The ground floor also offers guest WC, generous cloak and utility room and an indoor heated swimming pool with a waterfall and counter-flow swimming features. The pool is in a vaulted room and has surround sound music and multi-coloured lights within the pool itself.
The basement reveals a wine cellar filled with an impressive collection of Croatian wines, which can be consumed if arrangements are made with the owners.
From ground floor stone staircase leads up to a generous living room with large sofa that opens to a two person bed. 42 inch TV, comfortable armchairs and large coffee table make this space a perfect place for relaxing and socialising, whilst contemporary ethanol fire place create warm and cosy atmosphere for colder days of low-season. First floor offers two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, whilst second floor offers three further bedrooms and bathrooms. Two bedrooms have twin beds ideal for children and friends. Remaining three bedrooms have double beds and en-suite bathrooms for ultimate privacy and luxury. Master bedroom has a free standing bath tub, for added touch of glamour and pampering.
