We rented Kiki House on Cat Island for a week in April 2015. We were there with 2 other couples. We had a great vacation however while we were there the a/c in the master bedroom & the clothes dryer did not work. There are only 2 beach chairs for a beach house that sleeps 8 & there is no other outdoor furniture so you can sit & enjoy the huge deck. The beach in this particular location was just ok & the location is quite far from anything else. The worst part however was when we came home & I tried to get our security deposit refunded from the seller. First she said she was very busy at work & would get to it soon. Then she sent me the following email " I am so sorry, this is kind of embarrassing but we have been going through some issues in our household this spring (since March) and I will get your check out on the 29th - I really sincerely apologize but I have been really stressed and to be perfectly honest spent the money on therapists." When I replied that it was unacceptable that she had "spent" our security deposit she said "Very sorry you could not be flexible by 2 weeks - maybe another trip to Cat is needed?" So she claims she spent our money on therapists but I'm the one that needs another vacation?? When she finally mailed me a money order 8 weeks & many emails later I received the following email from her "sorry life has happened. If I had not communicated to you my circumstance I could understand your behavior but there was nothing I could do. Very sorry that thus has become such a gig over 385." She has no idea of my financial situation & according to her Facebook page she went to Cat Island for 2 weeks at the end of April - I guess that's where my $385 was spent. Do not rent from this owner unless you want to fight for almost 2 months to get your deposit paid back!
