Discovering new lands, knowing new cultures, savoring different local dishes and visiting world famous landmarks, travelling brings to you all of these. It is fun to have a holiday in a faraway land, amidst the stranger, thus creating great memories. Making a perfect getaway is tough unless you make a thorough search about everything, from attractions to dining spots. Do you know that taking health precautions is also important? Since you are heading to a new land and are unaware of the standard immunizations of that country, it is better to take some basic vaccinations and protect yourself from any such localized diseases.

Influenza:
Travelling between October and April? Do take flu or influenza vaccine. Pregnant women, elderly people, kids and those who have suppressed immune systems are prone to catch the flu, hence are recommended to take this vaccine. The consequence can be as bad as death in extreme cases. Certain measures need to be followed to stay fit and healthy.

Tetanus and Diptheria:
This is highly recommended if you have not taken this in the last ten years. Combined with the Pertussis vaccine, the Tetanus and Diptheria vaccination protects you against whooping cough. Both tetanus and diphtheria can be dangerous if not paid proper heed.

MMR:
Vaccines for Measles, Mumps and Rubella! Babies, teens and adults are advised to take MMR vaccines. Make sure your baby is not under one year. If he is, ensure that he should receive other vaccines prescribed by a podiatrics.

Preventions & Considerations:
Before you embark upon a lifetime journey to a faraway land, do consult with your physician, at least, four to six weeks earlier before you fasten your lace, pack your bag and move. Have your eyes fixed on regular health news of that country or city where you are heading to and avoid crowded and congested places as much as you can, also use hygiene measures to stay protected.
