Not many would agree to go on an off-the-beaten-path journey. Trust me, if you do embark upon such a trip to Italy, at least, a plethora of unexplored sites are awaiting for you to discover. On this Italy unexplored trip, lets virtually travel to one of the world’s oldest cities that resides on Sardinia.

Alghero one of the most historic and charming places on Sardinia. Evidences show that the city witnessed human civilization in pre-historic times. Despite its history and charming architecture not many people through here.  While in Alghero you will conveniently come across some of the popular attractions in the area such as Neptune’s Grotto and Alghero Cathedral. Its also been known as a place to visit for those romantic travelers as will provide a quite back drop with just the right amount of entertainment for those couples looking to escape on their vacation.

Cagliari is also home to one of the longest beaches in Italy

Once you have taken in Alghero, its time to set out and discover other hidden gems of Sardinia  which is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Head to the Serravelle Castle and admire its stunning architectural designs. After that check out Nuraghe and its ancient megalithic building or edifice, which has become a symbol of the island. Continue heading  south and you will discover Sardinian treasure trove, Cagliari. While there you will immediately be struck by Castello and other equally important attractions like the Cagliari Cathedral, the botanical garden and many more. Cagliari is also home to one of the longest beaches in Italy.

Last but not least located on the east coast of the vast island is the Gennargentu National Park. You will see the garden dormouse, the peregrine falcon, the butterfly Corsican swallowtail, the golden eagle, the griffon vulture and the Sardinian fox.

Get your camera and record everything that comes your way and make this vacation one to remember.
