Summer in Germany- Time to Watch out Festivals

Countless outdoor activities, colorful open-air festivals, warm temperatures, sunny days and long and arid days- if you are experiencing all these in Germany, it definitely is summer. Summer is the most ideal time of the year to visit Germany not only to enjoy the soothing weather, but also to take part in various colors and vibrant events and festivals. Summer is the prime time to be part of festive carnival in Germany. In other words, festival season in Germany is in full swing that allows visitors to catch the action mainly between July and August. Fireworks, fun rides, open-air concerts and plenty of eating and drinking will surely make your trip a successful one. Soak up in the local flavor by indulging in the following extravaganza.
Festivals & Events in Germany:
Carnival of Cultures:
Carnival of Cultures in Berlin attracts over 1.5 million visitors every year. The festival falls in the month of May and involves drinking, eating, partying, concerts, etc. The Street parade is the highlight of the festival.
Munich Opera Festival:
This year, Munich Opera Festival opens on the first of July and continues till the end of the current month. It mainly comprises shows performed during the past year. It ends with the music of Wagner.
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week:
With Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Germany’s biggest fashion episode returns. The festival provides a platform where designers from different corners of the world gather to showcase their collections.
Bach Fest Leipzig:
The main aim of Bach Fest Leipzig is to honor Johann Sebastian Bach, the most renowned resident of Leipzig city. Famous artists from various corners of the world come here to perform Bach’s classical masterpieces.
Traumzeit Music Festival:
Another music festival celebrated in the city of Duisburg is Traumzeit Music Festival. It features pop music, electronic and jazz in a distinctive backdrop where pipes, chimneys, gas tanks and blast furnaces for concerts, visual projections and light shows.
