Not the kind of a person to follow what others do? Maybe it’s time for you to embark upon an invigorating journey of discoveries of places that you are probably not heard before. The following places hold equal importance like other landmarks (the Coliseum, The Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon), but less traveled.
Dean’s Blue Hole:
Did you know the depth of Dean’s Blue Hole? It is 663 feet or 202 meters down below, thus making it the deepest known salt water on earth. Comparing Dean’s Blue Hole with other popular blue holes, it is far deeper and has a below sea level entrance. It remains unknown how it was created.
Hamilton Pool Preserve:
Yes, it is a natural pool created due to an underground river crumble. It actually happened after several centuries of massive water corrosion. Hamilton Pool Preserve is in Texas, only 23 miles west of Austin and serves a major summer attraction for residents and visitors alike. It contains rich wildlife species, floras and fauna.
Quiraing:
Quiraing is the destination if you are fitter and stronger. Created by a series of landslides, the landscape is full or rock peaks, hidden plateaus, vertical slopes, narrow paths and tall cliffs. One point of interest is called the Needle because of its uneven summit of 120 ft. Amongst prominent parts of Quiraing are the Prison and the Table.
Hvtserkur:
What a spellbinding attraction! Your eyes will get stuck as they fall on Hvtserkur. Rises fifty ft. from the sea, the rock resembles a thirsty dragon drinking from the ocean. Positioned on the Vatnsnes Peninsula’s eastern shore, the rock now looks white owing to the sea-bird excrement dumped on it for years.
Namaqualand:
Do you need a short break? Namaqualand makes an excellent destination. This is an arid region spreading over six hundred miles.
