Great Place to Stay

We were a group of three adults and five kids ages 12 and 13 years old from DC and Boston, meeting in the middle. This was the perfect house for us. There were enough bathrooms (one on each of the three floors) and enough space to stretch out. Broad Channel is a small, quiet place that looks like a fishing village. The kids went out on the deck, dock, and walked around town. They went to the nearby school yard, bought a pizza at a shop nearby, got to know a cat who was wandering around, and found "treasures" on the curbs as they walked through town. It is a world away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. The view from the deck was beautiful, and there was a big table and chairs out there where we could eat and admire the view. There was no problem with airport noise when we were there. The beds were comfortable. There was parking right beside the house. When we went into Manhattan, we used the subway. It was raining that day, so we drove to the subway stop and easily found a parking spot there. It's a short drive to Rockaway Beach. Michael and his family were very responsive and accommodating. If you want to visit the city and get away from it, too, stay here. We would stay here again.

Nice Place to Visit NYC with a Small Town Feel

By husband and I visited with our children and their respective significant others. We are from a very small town in Wisconsin and wanted to see New York City. The location was perfect for us. We were able to take the train into the City, and appreciated the ability to come home to relax in a small town atmosphere in Broad Channel at the end of the day. The neighborhood was very friendly, as was Michael. We could shop at the small nearby liquor store and grocery store. My daughter, my son's girlfriend, and I got pedicures for an extremely good price (and quality) at the nearby nail salon. Great customer service. My son could fish. We sat on the deck to view the skyline. I had concerns about the quality of the house after a December 2015 review. The people who wrote the review were COMPLETELY wrong about the place. It was clean and beautiful and felt like home. The views were awesome. I have girlfriends who want to visit New York for Broadway Shows. I will recommend to them we stay in this place.

Awesome visit

We had a great time staying at the house for a week. The views were amazing. We had 7 people staying there and there was plenty of room for everyone. And the walk to the train station was very short which made going to the city easy. We enjoyed visiting the Deli at the end of the street. Mike was nice enough to take us for a boat ride and even though we got stuck for a few minutes it was an adventure and we enjoyed the ride. We were able to do a little fishing and even caught some crabs. We were there for my son's graduation from USMMA and the ride to the school was not bad at all. I would recommend this house to everyone it is wonderful. If the opportunity arises we will definitely be back. The only drawback was that the week went by to quickly.
