Lives up to the name!
A Bit of Paradise truly lived up to it's title. There were 11 of us (all adults from 19-65), so space was an issue. But the house was perfect! We all had our own rooms and had lots of space to keep to ourselves if we wanted to. The location was awesome! Right on the harbor for us fishing lovers (since we are Southern..) and right across the beach for some sun! We loved it. Cons: -Not accessible for older folks. Lots of steps! -Didn't have cable or internet for half of our stay. A little frustrating at first, but not the end of the world. What we loved: -We loved being able to rent new movies from Holiday Isle for free! Better than Redbox by far. -Luxurious, yet homey feeling the home had. Thanks for a great stay Holiday Isle! The Burns Family

Not my kind of paradise
Booking was simple and pleasant. Office staff was friendly. Our first impression was a beat up front door that could use some cleaning and touching up. The couch had dark stains all over it and every single pillow, even in the bedrooms, had stains on them. The kitchen counters are tile and the grout was almost completely gone leaving only black dirt and food debris in the grout lines (gross!) There were dead cockroaches in some of the closets and in the lower basement area. The door locks for the master bedroom and the downstairs bathroom were not working, there was a missing ceiling tile in the kids bedroom one foot above the top bunk, the downstairs bathroom had a broken toilet seat, and the internet was not working. We called Holiday Isle to ensure we were not blamed or charged for the damage and they were quick to respond but I was left wondering, don't they do an inspection before and after renting out the houses? A severe cold front arrived the first evening and we found that the heater did not work but it was repaired the following day, after we froze overnight (40's that night). A third visit by the repair man was required for the internet but he couldn't fix it. We did not have internet the entire week. Towards the end of the week a storm arrived and we had a leak in one of the lower (basement) bedrooms. A breaker was tripped and my sister fell on the wet tile trying to leave the dark room. Everyone sleeping in the basement swore that they could hear rats or mice in the walls and walking around on the ceiling tiles. My brother in law even said he heard it rustling in their bags in the middle of the night. The stay was so unpleasant, we decided to leave early even though we booked the entire week. Location was perfect! Plenty of shops and restaurants, even within walking distance. 13 people fit comfortably and it did have a washer and dryer, a bonus. The backyard was the best. We fished almost everyday. Very quiet, perfect for families.Daniela C
