Sea Ranch Abalone Bay is surrounded by meadows and woods. As such, Guest may encounter various insects and wildlife traditionally found in a natural environment. As heat and drought increases you may find ants and/or Jerusalem cricket (potato bug) seeking shelter in the house. Owner employs year-round monthly pest control services and provides insecticide for your use. Guests are advised to keep the home clear of crumbs and food.
Guests are also advised to feed dogs inside and keep doors closed to avoid racoons from entering.

LEGAL RENTAL AGREEMENT: Guests are charged full amount of booking. Guests are required to sign our more in-depth legal rental agreement within 3 days of booking. Failing that owner reserves right to cancel the booking. Of special note in our legal agreement: While every attempt will be made to ensure that all advertised equipment and appliances are in working order at the commencement of Guest's stay, no reduction of rent, rebate, or refund will be issued for a mechanical failure of heater, dishwasher, washer, dryer, TV, refrigerator or other appliances.

SECURITY DEPOSIT: A security deposit of $500 is required to be deposited with the Owner. It will be collected separately prior to your arrival or at check-in. Guests are expected to maintain home and courtyard in good, operable, and generally clean condition. Guest is responsible for any damages or breakage to the Unit by anyone and/or pets allowed to enter the Unit during the rental period. Owner may elect to either deduct any damage from the Security Deposit or charge the credit card on file of the Lead Renter for any damage or breakage or excessive cleaning costs caused by Guest and/or party.

SECURITY CAMERAS/NOISE MONITORING: This home is equipped with 2 surveillance cameras located outside the front and back of the home to monitor the perimeter of the property. The owner meters the level of noise inside and outside the property and will advise the guest if the noise level exceeds 50dB

TSRA FACILITIES OUT OF OUR CONTROL: Due to high demand and limited availability of facilities requiring reservations for lap swim and Tennis/Pickleball as managed by TSRA, we cannot guarantee that all guests will have access to the pools and courts. Please note that no refund(s) will be provided in relation to the TSRA facilities.

PROPERTY ACCESS DETAILS: Guest's check-in, checkout, and full property access details are sent at time of booking via our contract, digital guidebook and reminders sent periodically through and including day of check-in. Information is sent via email, SMS and are included in our guidebook with video and written description. Guests are are informed door code is live at 4PM, on contracted time of check in. Code to door expires at 11AM on day of Check-out as per contract. Owner is available by phone if further instruction or support is needed.

About The Area

The Sea Ranch is a Zenfully quiet community. The Sea Ranch is much more than a place of houses or cookie-cutter coastal development. The Sea Ranch is a vision, inspiring in its beauty; a concept, daring in its invention; a covenant with nature and the land. It is a work of art, a single idea, a discrete piece of beauty in which successful structures become part of nature’s tapestry. The Sea Ranch is a community drawn together by a shared vision and respect for its concept.

The original designers evolved a concept of dynamic conservation or “living lightly on the land.” The strict covenant enforces stewardship of natural resources through an owners association of residents who felt an instinctive relationship with the environment.

Sea Ranch Abalone Bay is surrounded by intertidal coast, meadows and woods. As such, Guest may encounter wildlife traditionally found in a natural environment including but not limited to raccoon, fox, bobcat, coyote, voles, mice, turkey, heron, frogs, salamanders, lizards, snakes, and mountain lion. Guest may also encounter various insects including ants, ticks, fleas, bees, potato bugs. As heat and drought increase you may find ants and other insects seeking cool shelter, water, and food inside the house. Owner employs year-round pest control services and provides insecticide for your use. Guests are advised to keep the home clear of crumbs and no food left out. Guests are also advised to feed dogs inside and keep doors/screens closed to avoid raccoons from entering.

Simply The Best!

The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rarely is a vacation rental as advertised, there is always some exaggeration. In this case I think it is fair to say that there was perhaps some understatement! Walking along the bluff top every morning, saying "Hi" to the harbor seals that live at the foot of your garden, seeing a whale swim by blowing salt water into the air and waving his tail fluke at you before diving. Simply amazing place. The end of August seemed like a perfect time to visit as we loved the coastal temperature when just a few miles away folks were melting. And all of that is just the location! The house is very well kept, clean and presented, we slept like logs, drank too much wine we acquired on our visit to the vineyards (nice 90 min country drive), ate well on food from Gualala stores (particularly liked Surf Market). We wanted peace, quiet, relaxation and great walking and we got that and so much more in and around Sea Ranch. Thank You.

The stars at night were incredible - Milky Way like a brush stroke across the sky. Appreciated the extra dog friendly amenities like dishes, towels, doggie bags, and treat. Kitchen was a joy to use - tons of dishes, cookware, even spices. BBQ worked great and hot tub was wonderful, both located on the beautiful flagstone patio. Saw a hummingbird flitting around the blossoms.

Reviewer Comments: This well appointed house with its dog welcoming features was beyond our expectations in every way; right on the bluff, watching the whitecaps from the living room or the chairs outside, was a soulful and calming experience. the large private fenced courtyard offered a wonderful hot tub and complete privacy from other houses nearby. The only jarring note was having a house so close to ours that there are notes necessary about where to walk and keeping the tv shaded. Overall we would consider this property next year too.

Unbelievable Experience

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This may have singlehandedly have been the best weekend getaway we've ever taken with family and friends. The house is impeccable. It doesn't really feel like a "rental" as the owner uses it for their own purposes throughout the year. Its as though you are staying at a dear friends house with beautiful furnishings and outfitted with all the things that you might need. The setting is UNBELIEVABLE! Sea Ranch is private and the trails can't just be accessed by the public. You are right on the coast with all the trails at your disposal, and directly above one of the seal Rookery's that are quite busy this time of year. We took long leisurely walks each day and went quite far both north and south. (we could have gone much farther if we'd been inclined.) the Trails seem endless. Its all of nature's beauty and wonder directly at your feet. We were in awe at our luck to have been able to stay here. Absolutely magical.

Beautiful views, comfortable, and well-stocked home. Owners have thought of everything! Although we had mostly rainy days, we took advantage of the breaks in the rain to walk on the adjacent paths and explore the gorgeous coast. We’re looking forward to returning soon!

A Much Deserved Get-away

My wife and I previously stayed at Abalone Bay several years ago and were very dismayed to find it no longer available for rental. We continued to rent other homes at Sea Ranch because of our love for the area. Unfortunately, after being spoiled, none quite measured up. You can imagine our surprise this year when we found Abalone Bay back on the rental list after an incredible renovation. The home is situated right on the edge of the coast. There are virtually no obstacles blocking the view of the ocean from any of the many floor to ceiling windows surrounding the house. A seal rookery is a five minute walk. A double garage which serves as a game area (ping pong table included) was added and included a covered lighted walkway to the house . A glass sliding door was added to the bedroom for easy access to the spa. A large area that we think served as a laundry room was converted to a TV/reading room with large window seating. Just when you think it couldn’t get better – it did and how! We’re already looking at dates for 2023.

Perfect Getaway

Spent 3 incredibly relaxing days with longtime friends. Home was beautiful and very well appointed - nothing missing! Views were spectacular and we enjoyed all of the walking paths along the cliffs above Sea Ranch. Will definitely come back!
