About The Area

Treasure Cay is a "walk-to", sleepy little town that has been named as having one of the TEN most beautiful beaches in the world by National Geographic magazine.  The island has phone service, bad TV, and the Internet.  Other than that, it has changed little over the years.  The alternate mode of transportation is golf cart or bike of which both can be rented there.  The marina is across the street and has fishing charters, boat rentals, a dive and snorkel shop, restaurant and open-air bar.  Next door to the marina in the town center, are the grocery store, liquor store, bakery and the bike and golf cart rentals.  There’s a golf course about a half mile down the road.  A lot of people do not realize that the Bahamas are made up of 700 islands.  Besides Treasure Cay, there are islands that are only accessible by boat or ferry.  These are fun to explore.  Elbow Cay, Green Turtle, and Guana Cay are ones we would recommend as starters.  If you rent your own boat, there are also many uninhabited islands to play Robinson Caruso on.  You can hire a fishing charter that will take you fishing and then to an uninhabited island to prepare your catch for lunch.  Guana Cay has a beach bar and grill that has a Pig Roast on Sunday that you can ferry over to on Prozac, the ferry boat out of Treasure Cay Marina.  The world's 3rd largest barrier reef is off their beach and you can snorkel right off the beach.  There are umbrellas and chairs at the Bahama Beach Club beach free of charge for you to use but are on a first-come, first-served basis.  There are also charcoal grills available outside each building that are on a first-come, first serviced bases. There is also a pool bar and grill there as well.  There is a fresh water shower to rinse off and then go to dinner.  Swim suits are the most common attire.

Treasure Cay is one of the safest and friendliest family islands located in the Northern Bahamas on Great Abaco.

Best of the Best

We have been back from Treasure Cay for 24 hours now and I can't stop thinking about the great time we had. This was my 8th trip to TC in 6 years and our 5th Bahama Beach Unit. This unit was a great fit for 3 couples since it had three large beds which is harder to find in these rental units. We loved the close proximity to the beach and pool and the view from the porch was fabulous. We spent some incredible days island-hopping thanks to Abaco Adventures and it's great captain Ossie Hall. You can find Prozac docked in the marina to arrange a trip on one of the regular runs to Great Guana, Man O War, and Hopetown or to schedule your own charter. When our A/C went out on Monday, Cookie and her staff were quick to have someone at the unit to fix it and when it couldn't be fixed that day, they put us up in another unit close by for the night so we didn't have to go without A/C. The repairs were completed the next day and everything was great. We were a little disappointed that Bahama Beach Club has changed their policies and doesn't allow room charges or cash transactions when not renting from them directly, but we had credit cards handy. Simple lunch (grouper fingers/fries) for a party of 6 runs about $150+ so we didn't eat there often any way. We are getting smarter each trip we take to TC. We bring one suitcase with clothes for 2 people-you don't need much. Our second checked bag is a cooler full of food to cook throughout the week. i.e. peanut butter, jelly, condiments, snack bars and frozen hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ, cheese. Terri owns a bakery/catering company right by Spanky's (liquor store) and she makes awesome Bahamian mac and cheese, peas & rice, and coleslaw to add to the nights when we eat in. We would definitely rent this unit again and, as always, are already looking forward to our next trip back

Amazing Place in the Bahamas!

My wife and I just returned from Treasure Cay and our stay at the Bahama Beach Club. What an incredible get away! The unit was fantastic!...very spacious, clean, nicely decorated with vaulted ceilings and a wonderful view of the nicely manicured grounds, pool, and spectcular ocean from the screened in terrace. The second toilet was not functioning, but it was not a problem as it was just my wife and I, and we let the booking agent (Cookie was great in getting the unit booked and answering questions) know it could certainly wait until our visit completed before it was fixed. The "resort" in general was fantastic. Unbelievably, this spectacular beach was never crowded. We never had difficulty finding available pool chairs or beach chairs. The Bahamian people were very warm! Sidney was as friendly as desribed and happy to pick us up and take us to the airport. If you are looking for a quiet getaway to an uncrowded beach, with white, white sand, and incredibly clear turquoise water, this is the place. Side excursions such as feeding the stingrays (Lincoln or Chris Jones...reception can provide the numbers), fishing, diving, and island hopping are all available. We enjoyed getting around in our golf cart and not having to go very far to the restaurants for dinner. If you want to get dressed up for a night, Treasure Sands is a great romantic night out for beachfront dining. Overall, a wonderful place!

Gorgeous Vies and perfect beach

BEAUTIFUL beach!!! The view was breath taking. Not a ton to do here so 50/50 on bringing kids, unless they are happy just relaxing. However, the waves were minimal and sand bars were amazing when the tide was out...you could walk out 1/2 mile or so and water to your ankles still (or below knees) so kids would really enjoy that and be safe still. Very, very expensive, but expected when on an island where stuff is shipped in. Bag of chips at store was $7.00, case of water $10-14 etc... pizza at Tipsy seagull was $40.00 for a large basic pizza. We went at a good time when there was really no one there, was like having the island to ourself!!!! I would definitely go back!!!! I would also stay in my same unit which was a 2nd floor unit. We did have an issue with the shower not working; they cam and fixed it within a day!!!!! Cookie was a tremendous help and very friendly!!!

simply amazing!

This is an extremely clean and spacious villa in an awesome location. With 5 people we had more than enough space for everyone. The pool and hottub steps away is a major bonus. The beach was amazing, not busy with clean water and white sand. Staying here was very convenient and paired with a golf cart rental going to buy groceries was a breeze. I loved everything about my visit to Treasure Cay and will definitely return. Thank you to Cookie for helping us secure the place on short notice. This is one of the best places to stay for the price, space, and view!

5 Star Accomodations, best on the island second to none

Pictures do not do this place justice ! If your going to treasure cay you don't want to stay anywhere else. Everything you need is right at the BBC or walking distance. Pool bar and grill at the BBC that your family can charge to your room so the kids can eat and drink when they want (parents too) We fished almost daily and had the super friendly staff cook our Wahoo, Mahi and blackfin tuna. My best family vacation yet. Was so good the owner let us extend our stay. We had some friends come over who were staying elsewhere for the same $$$ and they were mind blown with this condo vs theirs. Tom we want it again next April Be in touch soon
