The cosy sitting room has built in seating which can be used as a third small bed if required and has one wall restored to the original stone. A w/c shower room has also been added to this ground floor, to the side of the sitting room The bedroom is reached by wooden stairs from the sitting room and has twin beds which are set together to form a double bed. It is light and airy with open beamed ceilings and pine wood floors and has a small balcony from which to enjoy the views. The small kitchen/dining room is reached by a separate entrance and has a lovely breakfast table surrounded by windows. The small kitchenette is equipped for simple holiday meals and still has the original bread oven.
EXTERIOR
The Cottage has lovely outdoor terraces from which to enjoy both sun and shade throughout the day. The built-in BBQ/outdoor kitchen is set next to the main house which is surrounded by cypress trees through which there is a convenient path leading to the main Stafilos road. The private pool sits just below the cottage.
SURROUNDINGS
Situated on the hilltop above Stafilos Bay, Michaels Country Cottage is conveniently located within walking distance of beaches and tavernas. The driveway from the cottage leads to the main road down to the beaches of Stafilos and Velanio - about a 10 minute walk downhill. A small path starting behind the cottage leads to the bus stop on the main road to Skopelos Town. There are two restaurants nearby and a small mini market approximately 20 minutes walk away. Skopelos town is approximately 4km away and can be reached by foot in around 50 minutes along the old Stafilos road.
SUITABILITY
Couples wanting a romantic break will enjoy this quiet cottage which, although being quite private, is not too far from civilisation. The third small bed in the sitting room is ideal for a couple with a small child. People with walking difficulties or the unfit might find walking the steep uphill driveway challenging. In these cases, a hire car is highly recommended.
