Spain receives a humongous number of visitors from different corners of the world. Credit goes to its pristine sandy beaches, amazing range of cuisines, historic sites, awe-striking architectural grandeur, natural wonders, superb surroundings and incredible nightlife. Spain’s mild climate demands a mention here as well. No matter how significant the country is, from a traveler’s perspective, it is equally important to cross check a few things in a safe and memorable trip.

Though Spain is a safe country to travel, you need to be vigilant and alert because there are a few instances of pickpockets and thefts reported in the recent past. Thieves in Spain, preferably target distracted visitors and lure them to an unknown place where they do away with their task. Such incidents can occur anywhere- it could be beached, dense forests, train stations and airports. Keep your eyes open while traveling through the cities.

The Best Safety Advice is to Simply Remain Aware

One of the major safety measures is to keep all your valuables, such as passports, credit cards and extra cash in a safe place or in a hidden money belt or lockers rather than in purses, wallets and pockets. Monitoring local news is also a great move to be safe in Spain. Since Spain Vacation Rentals come complete with large screen TVs with free cable connection, you can watch the news and know what’s happening in and around the city. Avoid places where demonstrations are taking place.

Driving! Cities like Barcelona and Madrid can give you bad driving experience because of their faster-paced traffic. Driving in rural areas, particularly, at night can be hazardous because of free-roaming of farm animals and lack of road signs.

Before you embark on a Spain holiday ensure that you have the numbers of the local police, your friends in the group and holiday rental owner. Keep your friends informed about your whereabouts if you are traveling alone in some particular regions. However, a guided tour in Spain can assure you of a safe and enjoyable vacation.
