History:
The original construction of the Cologne Cathedral started in 1248, which was closed down in 1473, leaving the masterpiece incomplete. Since 1996, it has become a UNESCO World Heritage Site and many guided tours are offered by companies to history lovers. It is Northern Europe’s largest Gothic church with 144.5 meters length and width of 86.25 m. It has majestic spires (two) that help name it the largest facade church on earth.
