The Scandinavian region consists of five countries; Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland. If you have some basic questions before heading for a Scandinavian trip, this is an ideal place.

Is a Visa Needed?
You might not need a visa to enter Scandinavia if you are a European Union citizen. Moreover, if you belong to countries like Canada, New Zealand, the USA and Australia, you will also not need a visa for at least three months.

Right Time to See Midnight Sun:
Plan your vacation between May and July if you want to capture the best view of the Midnight Sun. The best place to see the Midnight Sun is the northern inlets or fjords of Norway. Heading to the Arctic Circle in a clear and dark winter night will bestow you with the breathtaking sight of the Aurora Borealis. It is also called the northern lights. Another sight that you should not afford to miss is the polar lights.

Health Tips:
The only concern is the cold. Winter can get very chilly. Wear warm dress to stay warm. Also, be careful while driving and keep an eye on elks (while crossing the roads).

Don’t Speak the Local Language? You Can Still Survive!:
If you know English, you will not face language barrier. Those who are well versed with German language will have the advantage. Use Swedish and Danish phrases if you know.

When to Visit Scandinavia:
It is to be sure that one will have a wide range of activities to enjoy, a vast gamut of things to see and do in Scandinavia. But it is also important to know the right time. May through September is the busiest time in Scandinavia. Warmer months are not only just more enjoyable, but bring an array of festivals and events. Winter months are popular among ski lovers.
